mostly because the majority of the people recommeding the FI sub have never owned or heard one.

Perhaps you should take your own advice and list the reasons as to why you would pick those drivers over the 2nd generation BTL.

HDC's are Chinese made... so basically they produce the sub for... 30-40$ a piece and sell them for how much? The BTL's are machined here with materials sourced from here (granted not all but nearly) and sell them for nearly the same price. Also If you've seen the inside of the motor the "cooling" vents look like they were drilled by a drunk 5 year old.
