building fiberglass pods

Recommended Posts

Anyone know where I can look at pics of pods? I'm having some started today for my jeep. I'm not building them myself. Is there anything I need to be aware of or tell the person making them? I don't know jack about them. I'm installing my Kicker RS6.5 component set in there. I'll probably mount the tweeter in the co-ax. Any comments, opinions?

Me competiting in db drag street class means I can't have anything large or alot of glass on my door.

I'd reccomend that you use foil or some kind of packing tape on top of it...gotta watch the duct tape sticking to the panels and leaving a residue if you mix it hot...

Also use tire shine or some type of silicone based spray for a mold release

Mainly just want to make sure that you have at least 3 layers on the bottom of the pod...

Are you just wanting him to follow the trim of the bottom line of the door?

Just hit me on aim...prolly be easier

I found another one that I beleive undercoverpunk did, but they were large. I was just trying to get ideas for something small for my door and points on what not to have done.

Is it a no no to mount my tweeter in the co-ax?

no, its a component set. sorry didn't mean to say "co-ax" I meant mount the tweeter in the midbass so it'll look like a co-ax

Oh

You can mount the tweeter infront of the mid.

Thats what the CDT Braxials do.

Thats the whole door skin though....

You'll have to do something like Ngsm13 if you want them in pods.

Or you could be super lame and mount them way off axis ( like the RF's) and have comps that dont sound as good.

I have all the pics on my computer

The site that he used to upload them went down because he didnt pay the bill...lol

I can email you them if you like.

Actually, I closed the site. I have them all in full resolution. If you want the images I can burn them on a disc if you want to pay for mailing ($2.00 MediaMail - gotta love the USPS). It would take far too long to email them. There is more than 100 images..
