Budget SPL driver

Recommended Posts

Ok, here's the latest. I received my shipment which included the SPL proto. Here are some closeup shots of it. I will be taking T/S parameters of it today and will be shipping it off to Loyd to pound on tomorrow.

That looks awesome.

any idea on when we could expect to see this sub shipping? I am sure it will be a while but a guesstimate would be cool. I am assuming atleast six months if loyd makes no changes.

The other one is on its way here, and I hope to get some decent test time on it, and submit my thoughts to Lyod.

interesting to see woven tinsel leads on a SPL sub too.

My first thought as well.

My first thought as well.

Resonance has been running leads through the suspension for years...

its not a completely new idea for SPL use... if done right

because rubber doesn't have enough compliance for ultra high power SPL use...

and its heavy, expensive, and yields no benefit in this instance..

Now we just gotta wait for loyd to beat on it like it owed him money! :)

That won't take much.

Price estimate?

I estimate it'll cost something... ;)

Loyd L.

Well aren't you clever. I was thinking the exact same thing.
