Subwoofers facing upwards or towards the rear end

Recommended Posts

Let's talk about subwoofers in general, which way will it perform the best, subs facing upwards(the roof) or facing towards the rear end?

just wondering since i ve seen a lot of people doing upwards around here.. unless i just dont notice anyone that points their subs towards the rear end..

Toward the rear in an SUV. If your doing a ported enclosure you can face the subs up and port toward the rear.

i got an suv i built my box to where the sub is on the same side as the port and i have tried up but i think when you face it to the back its louder... but your roof will flex a lot more if you face it up..

if it is a sealed box, then what?

Sealed I face rear for better low end response.

I have a 95' Explorer and I have found out that the subs faced up with the port back is the only way to go. I use to run port and subs both faced back but have found out it works much better how I have it now.

How about in a Scion tC? Would that be the same as a SUV even though the glass is angled?
