I was going to wait until I had finished everything, but by the time my subs get here I will be too old to type. haha --- Previous setup (~147 on music) Fi Audio Generation 2 BTL 18 Sundown Audio 3000D 2 Optima Yellow Tops Sundown Audio 50.4 Polk Audio component sets in the front doors and kicks --- What's going in 2 Fi Audio Generation 3 BTL N2's (18s) Sundown Audio 3000D (.5 ohm) 4 Optima Yellow Tops, some sort of group 31 in the oem secondary battery tray not changing the component sets in the kicks/doors leaving the 50.4 adding 3-4 apt super tweeters and some selenium mids for rear fill (just when I'm at shows with the hatch open) And some pictures; First part of the new system to arrive; 250SP Before After The Idea; Trying to form the idea into reality Everything out and ready for the box Slid the box in Had to get some more power for the .5 ohm transition Still waiting on the VCM, Waiting on FI for the subs. I'll wait a couple of weeks before adding the second baffle/carpet. Thanks for looking Give me some feedback

The X is a 10, the BTLs are 12s. I haven't put any power to them, I just got home at 9 and unboxed them. I might do some free air to one tomorrow only off of about 900 watts though. The suspension on the BTL is super stiff, you have to push very hard on the cone just to get it to move a centimeter. The build quality is fantastic, clearly American made. I put a bag of screws up against the neo, well when I try to pull the bag of screws off, the plastic came off but all the screws still stuck on and it took some effort to get them off. The dustcap on the BTL has a flat finish and I like it much more than the X. On the bottom of the motors it has a neat little acrylic plate with Fi written all over it, you can see what I'm talking about on their site. So far so good just from unboxing, I can't wait to get the AQ 3500.1.

Clay from TeamSSA just brought his friend down, and we did a direct swap out from some JLW3's in his sealed box. He plans on upgrading to a SAZ-2500 when they come into stock. Rob your awesome. Instead of recommending you 100% to everyone like I have been doing, I will now recommend you 1000%.

The difference in efficiency between full power output & lower power output levels for a given Class D amplifier is generally not very much. Obviously the "heat" would be less than at full power simply because the output is lower, but it would be the same as a lower rated power output amplifier of equivalent efficiency. But efficiency wise, there won't be a whole lot of difference. One thing that would more significantly improve efficiency would be to run the amplifier(s) at a higher impedance......i.e. a 2ohm load on two 2500w amplifiers would be more efficient than a 1ohm load on a 5kw amplifier (assuming the amplifiers are relatively similar in efficiency levels at similar impedances to begin with). The distortion difference would be 100% inaudible. The one benefit you would have in using an amplifier with higher rated power than you intend to use would be higher available headroom, which reduces the risk of clipping on dynamic peaks. How much of a benefit that may or may not be depends on different factors. I wouldn't worry too much about the birthsheet or bench test. The differences involved at these power levels are going to be inaudible anyways.....unless you plan on hitting the comp circuit. Then it's a little more important.

Forgot to post the box for the seleniums. I mounted some horn loaded tweeters in the sides and front. Had to put new diaphrams in 2 of the horns... they told me they didn't like having a low xover (they blew in about an hour). And the box; Also a better view of the way I am mounting my amps.... if I just had 1 extra inch I'd be in much better shape. Everything is such a tight fit! The wires have been organized, I just ran out of time on the first day.

Big 2 Wiring completed, I will complete the Big 3 when I get my High Output Alternator. Battery to chassis and engine block to chassis show below. Big 1:Engine Block to Chassis (Ground) I replaced the factory wire with 4 gauge wire since it looks bad and besides its 12 years old, plus I added 2/0 welding cable just cause and removed the paint from the factory ground location. Before After Upgraded Factory Wire - 2/0 Welding Wire Big 2: Battery to Chassis (Ground) I replaced the factory wiring here since it was old, I added a 1/0 wire and 2/0 wire from negative battery terminal to chassis.

Ok a little update on the box build. Learned that my router skills are in the negatives and next time willl fix up some kind of jig to make circles. Anyways here are some pics. The mess on the dining table. Yes I was building this inside....dont have a garage and it was storming like crazy outside. First side up. All sides up. I didn't want to use another sheet of mdf just for a small piece so my middle wall is 2 pieces glued. Sides and middle baffle in. This is what I was hoping my holes were gonna look like....... Turned out more like this. And this is with the baffle on. Rest may be delayed a couple days for work. Amp should be here by friday and binding posts sometime next week.

Now, I did all of this maybe 3 weeks ago. Since then I've decided to go a different route amp wise, so only one of the sides will be used...O well, at least I have symmetry lol. Gonna get to work wrapping the wall and trim pieces, painting the port and back wall of the inside of the box, and sealing it off here pretty soon. I've been too pre-occupied with other things to worry much about my car. Hopefully I can get back to it a little better.

Alright I'm back lol. Haven't been to active lately. I did get a lil more done on the wall. I was gonna redo the baffles, but I figured that I'd leave them be for a while and see how they do on the new amp. Did get me some terminals. My helper.

So instead of starting a new build log I will ....well start what I never did before. I have 2 xcon 15's waiting for a install. Will order a audiopipe 3k tomorrow and get some wood at home depot and hopefully get this all started. Currently in the car I have: Pioneer deh-7900 Stock components Saz-1000d (some power acoustik amp filling in at the moment cus I seemed to pop a cap in my Saz.) 15" Fi Q fully loaded D2 in a 3 cf sealed box. Optima blue top under the hood and Optima Yellow top in the back. 2/0 welding cable from front to back. Knu Konceptz 1/0 for my big three and Knu rca's Will be looking to replace my 6.5's here soon also. And some pics to bide the time. Made the center cap for these 18" enkei's for a custom look. Early xmas presents. 2 Bundles of joy. Some face time. And a peak at the backsides. Hopefully I won't fail in keeping up with this build log as I did last time.

Howdy everyone, I am looking to seal off the trunk of myv 06 impala. The box was facing towarda the rear (port/sub) facing towards the trunk hatch. But now were trying to flip it facing in. ATM I'm running 1 15inch fI bl by a 1000d sundown. I want to thrown another 1000 and strap it but from research I might have option other then Ronaldo get a btl. But for the moment, for now, I want to flip the box around. I could use some tips. Or a link robs tutoral, thanks

There are plenty of videos with people using Sundowns. Sundown can create a huge amount of power, but it takes power to make power. Their amps are able to run at .5 ohms, not recommended, and I won't be doing so, but I've seen and heard from people who own their equipment, nothing but good things. They underrated their products greatly. My two crappy cents lol
