Power Acoustik

A gotta call from a friend of mine this morning. He just bought this...

He was asking all kinds of questions about it and I told him that I didn't know much about power acoustik's stuff. So here I am again. Does anyone have any experience with this sub? Loud? sound quality? will it run at rated power? I know this is kind of general without box specs but I haven't measured his truck yet so I do not have them. Just in general has anyone ever heard these things because I have pretty much stayed away from power acoustik.

Loud? Not really.

SQ? Definitely not.

Rated power? Perhaps.

my question is why did he buy something he knew nothing about? see if he can return it and get a refund

He is very amatuer in all of this. Not saying that I am an expert but he still believes that a big cone + high watts= loud.

So these things really sound that bad, huh? If he can return it what would be a good 15 for around $200. All he cares about is loud, loud, and more loud. Also he has about 1500 watts at 1 ohm to push to it.

well if he can kick it up another $70 or so he can get one of these http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/shop/in...p;productId=194 they can take 1000-1200 watts daily get loud and sound really good from all the reviews ive read..and if hes into a nice big sub he wont be disappointed with this baby

well bro tell him you get what you pay for..so he needs to nut up another $70..lol because in ported that icon runs very well in those dimensions i have read

i have two 12s of the FUBR version, rated about 700 rms each. Are these gonna be loud at all, or should i save up and get different ones. i have never used them.

well i had 2 15" power acoustik mofos powered by a MA HK4000D and they took it no problem i also hit 147db with that set up it wasnt bad. They didnt really get warm but they are deffinetly not an sq sub for sure.
