ruger mkIII w/ barska red dot. has a 5 moa dot when cranked up, a lil big, but it'll drive nails at 25yds and stay under 2" at 50yd. (off a rest fo course) not bad for a 60(maybe older) year old design and a cheapo optic, lol.

he did indeed help pick it out. the wifey and him bought it. they think that by buying me this .22 that i will give up the rights to my model 17, to which they both claim ownership. it ain't happening, though the 17 might just get retired, or at least semi retired.

AHAHAHAHAHA.

Target practice is fun. Do you go to a range for that?

I'll be buying a nice pellet gun if we move, I ain't old enough to get a gun..

I wonder if I could bring my .177 pellet gun to a gun range..?

no range, woods. i have a good setup, 3'x3'x6' target stand, portable bench, spotting scope and range finder. i can setup as far, or as close, as i need too.

I've brought a .177cal air gun to a range, but the one I play with sure as hell isn't your standard pellet gun.

You could bring a pellet gun to a range, but a backyard and a makeshift target holder would work just as well and be a lot cheaper.

i have used redots before and like them, but i really want to try out a holographic sight. the ones with only one lens.

they are supposed to take a little to get used to them.

your supposed to keep both eyes open and focus on your target not the sight and the reticule is then superimposed on the target. they claim to be even faster on target than redots, and they are supposed to not have the problem with having to keep the dot centered in the tube as to avoid a point of impact shift.

it use the same trick as when you look through a paper towel tube with one eye while the other eye is still open, and look at your hand. if you do it right it makes it look like there is hole in your hand.
