I'm surprised that UPS and other shipping companies dont require bucking magnets.

A bucking magnet is another magnet attached to the regular one except reversed...basically neutralizes the magnetic field so you can put it close to a CRT monitor without screwing it up...

Neo magnets + computer monitor = lots of fun as long as the monitor is not yours :)

which is why i want one of thoes 3"x 1" N-40 magnets to play with at school. :ehh:

They'll ship magnetic things, but they ask first...at least I've been asked before.

to not fudge with data being shipped?

When I shipped my SX out I was checkin out the little illegal items to ship chart and in the bottom right corner magnets of size were legal.

Nah , it's protection against their sortation systems. Most are driven by linear motors. Strong magnetic fields will sometimes interfere with them :)

They will accept them and ship them. But they handle them like larger items and sort them by hand :)

If they kicked a Neo-motored DD around, I feel bad for the guy who goes for the header :OhYeah:
