the av710 is nucking futs :woot:

Thanks Sean

:boobs2: glad it got there okay, I am always worried about that. I would have really hated for any BS to happen. For the price it is one hell of a Sound Card. My $200 M-audio doesn't sound any better than either of my 710's, perhaps someday when I have some real speakers it might but I am not so sure. Best budget buy by far in my book.

*knocks on wood* up untill now everything i got was in excellent shape.

i've also founs some topics on head-fi.org discussing how to set it up.

Think I've decided how to finish my BIB's.

Its got a double front baffle just where the speakers are. Do the second baffle in Cherry laminate, the rest of the front baffle in Beech laminate to set off the cherry. On the sides do Cherry laminate, but with a 4" strip of Beech running up the center to break up the huge slab of a side. Then a solid cherry back.

Needless to say this is going to be the cheap laminate from PE, but I think it will work for what it is.

2'x18' roll for under 20 bucks. :)

Ideas?

I think I found the 710 on head fi originally, perhaps not but that sounds familiar. I haven't stopped in there for a couple years though.

I think if I did them all the same color it would look to huge and imposing.

Random thought:

The fact that the Romans could build the Pont Du Gard aqueduct in general impresses me, but the fact that it has an accurate slope of 1:3000 simply stuns me. And build the thing out of unmortared stone.

I can't say that heights and ladders are my friend.

What are you talking about? So do you get scared when you stand up?

Anyone know if they make veneer wider than 24"? Maybe 36"?

Yes, do a Google search. Formica does. I know that for sure, but a 4x8 sheet is around $2-500 depending on which one you want. The last sheet I priced was $486 + $120 to ship.

Dang, that stuff is expensive.

Thanks for the info, but I think I'll find a different solution for this project. :)

If I still had one of my old jobs, I could have had a custom machined box made out of silestone. :P

I was painting a sign a ways back now up on a ladder and it slid down with me riding it. I was only up about 25 feet, but if it would have slid sideways at all I would have had another 2 stories to fall. Ever since then I haven't been super keen on ladders.

I did some consulting work at Cambria (pressed quartz not unlike silestone) and was going to trade for doing my kitchen, but at $220 a square foot even trading would have taken a lot of hours to work off.

I'm watching Knocked up, I've never watched it before. It's actually really funny.
