Should I Buy Dynamat??

Recommended Posts

As you know this is my setup (I just posted it for people who didnt know)

SUB:(1) 18'' Fi.BTL (Fully Loaded) D2,cooling,hixm coil,induct heat ring,daily

AMP:(1) AudioQue 3500D (3500 Rms @ 1 Ohm!! & BTL's are recommended @ 2000 Rms) [is the amp good or what?]

its getting the whole 3500 rms

(4):Screws for terminals (Better solid connection no leaks)

Enclosure:(1):[Ported] 6 Cuft. (After displacemant) Tuned to 32hz. (MAYBE) 3/4 MDF

(1):PAC 200amp Battery Isolator

(3):300amp Iraggi HO Alternators

2 Kinetik HC 2400 Batts.

Big 3 done (beefing up my electrical system) etc.

Also everyone said make the enlcosure to about 6 cuft. since im giving it 3500 rms so it wont unload but can I make it 6.5 or 7 cuft. after displacement and port? what would you choose? Also how much of a db gain will I get with 3 or 4 packs of dynamat extreme complete car kits? Now I know dynamat stops the stuff on your car from shaking and gives better sq more bass but will you still hear me before you see me wit it? Because if not I dont want it! hopefully with dynamat installed I'll be in the early 150's if the sub hits 146-148db alone. What do you think?

P.S:Is "Cooling" option for btl mainly for daily or spl? if for spl option i'll stick with the P-chamfer.

please answer all questions :)

better throw on your flame suit, people on here don't really appreciate the whole "hear me before you see me" thing :)

...but yes, without a doubt you should have sound deadening. that is a big part of the difference between real sound systems and ghetto blaster hoopties. no matter how loud a car is, when it drives by rattling like a piece of turd i lol @ them

if your gona be crankin it so everyone can hear you atleast use some deadening on the vehicle. some other options besides dynamat would be raamat or damplifer pro... etc

i would highly recommend reading these threads when the forum is working properly again:

additionally, you should use sound dampener for YOUR listening enjoyment, not for the people you unnecessarily force to listen to your music.

I bought 2 bulk packs of dynamat xtreme and 1 trunk kit and no matter what I do, it still rattles like crazy by the trunk area. I double layered almost everything in my car since it is really small. Roof, doors, floorboard, wheel wells, bottom trunk, side walls of trunk, liscense plate area, and of course the trunk lid. (I got 2 bl's on a gp3000d-pro). When your running a lot of power, there will always be rattle no matter what. The dynamat did help immensely of course. Without it, I wouldn't have a trunk lid no more lol.

I would go with the Raammat. 56 sq feet for around 135.00 shipped for the roll, and it works. With Dynamat you pay for the name and get a whole lot less. 2 rolls do most cars just fine, with some left over.
