15" bl box size??

Recommended Posts

looking for the box size for the 15" BL's? I ordered 2 on 2-13-09 and the specs on the web site don't give a port length?

any ideas of a size? their going in a 05 ford escape with a vr2000d.

I emailed nick but no answer.

You have to measure and see how much room you have to work with...

Then pickout how much port area you want to run...

Then pick out a tuning, and put it into a program like winisd or something to calculate it.

There is no one given port dimension..just a range..

Not Yet I paid for them on the 13th I got the tracking #s on the 16th and they say delivery would be on the 23rd but nothing yet, tracking #s don't confirm pickup yet.

I also just ordered some shirts to, Ive read that they are swamped.

Not ready for them yet anyways i have to find someone with a box building program to design a box for my 05 ford escape.

yeah some douche-baggy shops will do that, i got my 1 in thick box for abouttt.... 120 dollars carpeted which is great because other shops wanted to charge me like 200-300 dollars for a single box. so its gonna be kinda expensive.

edit: it was a single Bl 15.

Where do you live?

If you need a set of box plans, post up the max dimensions. . . I will design it for you.

Well i have some pictures of my install so far but for some reason it won't upload the url it keeps saying error and wants me to sign in over and over :WTFBubble: .

Thanks too Chris at fisher customs for the box design. I just got the 220 amp alt put on ($192.92 from the ford dealer cause its in a 2005 ford escape and down on the back side of the motor took them 3hr $60/hr RIP OFF'S) and now have my 2 optima red tops installed. I put the box in to see how it sounds and wow its pretty loud. Can't wait till they break in a little more they are still really stiff but slamm. Hopefully this week end i can build the amp rack and switch out the mtx amp with my jl 300/4. I'll try to post the pics later.

:WTFBubble: Ok guy's maybe someone can help me? My problem is i was playing the Bl 15's at about 3/4 of the way up and all of a sudden the started makeing a crackling noise? Now i took them out of the box and checked the coils and all 4 read 1.9 ohm (2ohm dvc). NO SMELL EITHER I played them out of the box and NO noise( WICKED XMAX), put them back in and no noise coils look fine also. After playing the same song the noise comes and goes along with all other songs??? could it be my amp?

I have the crossefire vr2000d running them A 220 amp db electrical alt and 2 optima red top's 1/0 guage through out. I emailed roger at crossfire who i bought the amp from to see if it could be the amp but no reply. Any Suggestions????

Or bad ground. Could be a number of things, go through your install and double check everything.

Well i checked all of my wires and replaced my grounds and still the same problem with the subs!!! Roger emailed me back from crossfire and said that if the amp was the problem it wouldn't play at all. And i don't have any other subs to hook up to the amp to see if its the amp or subs I pulled the subs again and all coils read 1.8ohm (just got done playing them) They still slam as hard as when i put them in but are making the cracking/poping noise???

I have put the video in youtube so everybody can listen/see them. If they were blown i wouldn't think they would play as loud.

I emailed fi about the problem/recone costs but no reply???

Anyone no how much to recone them?? 2-15"BL 2/2 p-chamfer

Well pulled everything out today. Subs still made the noise in the box but hear nothing while playing them free air :angry22: . Sending the amp back tommorow to see if thats the problem. I checked out the FI site and now most of the pages work. Even the recone section. The price's are now listed WOW And they released the 2009 BL series :bigclap: :bigclap: Maybe i'll recone to the 2009's just to be safe.
