Which sub should i buy?

Recommended Posts

O.k. i have a 4.25cft box net volume tune@35hz, with 49 Square inches of port.

It used to have Ed 19ov.2 in it , but now i want to upgrade .

Deciding between three subs Fi bl 18", Audioque Hdc3 18" or Pap WMD 18.

The amp i'm using is eD Nine.1. So which sub would work best?

You didn't give us any goals or anything...

Try giving us more details or we can't really answer you.

P.S. 4.25cft and 49 inches of port is not very much at all for an 18. I would suggest getting a 15 or making a bigger box, but again we don't know if you can make a new box because you didn't specify a car.

My goal is to get louder.I wan't something that rocks. this will be daily setup not spl and i don't have the room for a bigger box.

4.25 ft^3 is too small for an 18" ported enclosure, now if it was sealed it would be a different story. If you cant go any bigger box wise I would get 1-15" or 2-12" subwoofers, dont choke your subwoofers give them some room to breathe.

I vote FI BL :)

Welcome to SSA, please be courteous to our members here and in return they will to you.

Out of the three you've chosen,

I too would vote for the Fi BL.

On the other hand a pair of SSA con 12's in a sealed box may have a louder output.

Excellent sound quality to boot!

With the space you've provided IMO a ported 18" will sound like azz.

It's a little on the small side.

Can I ask what type of ride are you putting this into?

It may help if it's a common sty;e auto...

The suggestions and opinions will be more "fine tuned".

Wow. Why ask for help, then? Why don't you go down to Best Buy and ask them what they have to offer you. You should get plenty of courteous help down there.

I've warned him before or if not was about to and noticed someone else did. Personally I'd make his vacation permanent but considering it is 7 days the first time he acts like a tool again on return it is easy to make a decision.

I've decide on purchasing WMD series sub, it actually came close for my nstall needs.

Besides according from everyones input , it should sound alot better than eD subs.

Should I keep my amps? they are the eD nine.1 class d.

I don't have any problems with them, i just wanna know if its putting out true rms power.

I thought about buying a SAZ 4000 to power my four 18"s, but since iv'e already on two nine.1s ,it's probably cheaper just to add two

more amps and call it the day.

I wouldn't ever run 4 amps when I could run one instead. Doesn't mean it won't work, but far from ideal.

I could run those amps strapped, besides it would cheaper for me to add two amps than to start all over from scratch.

The SAZ 4500D would be nice to have , i would actually gain more power with four 1200Ds.

You won't notice a difference unless you double the power, so don't be so quick to start throwing more at it.
