They'll work for whatever I'll be doing with them.

Yesterday they worked as a shoe rack <shrug>

It's long ... needs to be cut again - it's growing really fast in this weather.

My grass is my pride and joy. Sometimes.

Whatever you tell me to put in there ;)

I was thinking of just going with the Daytons on Partsexpress as they look like a decent speaker and are very well priced. When I put speakers in here, I won't be looking to spend an arm and a leg.

BTW, did you get my last PM with the picture ?

You can throw a full 4' x 8' sheet of material in this one and it'll cut out your panels.

I've made up a few basic sealed box programs with the software and it cuts everything just perfect. It's quicker for me to use the table saw, but if I ever have to do a certain size enclosure for someone around here all I have to do is change the dimensions on the existing program.

And ......... I used a 1/2" bit to cut out those little circles ... just because :P

I like how you think, build first then figure out whats going in it

Ribbons are pretty expensive, though ...

The Extremis 6.8" drivers go for $125 a pop up here.

I'm the opposite way when it comes to the vehicles, though. Buy whatever I want, and do whatever I have to in order to get the piece to fit and look good.

I'll probably wind up going with the cheap Dayton stuff from Partsexpress ... as all 10 speakers would come in at just over $130 USD or so - unless I / anyone else finds some better deals elsewhere like Madisound. I was watching the Adire odds 'n ends page before like a frickin' hawk.

Oh yeah ... forgot to mention ...

Know what else the router does? Yeah you guessed right ... it'll do the dados, grooves, and rabbets that hold everything together as well ;)

Tease.

Those should get quite loud...I'm usually not a fan of the "2.5" (or in this case, "2.75 way") design, but that box looks like it has the potential for some serious output.

The main thing is definitely output in this case.

I was going to keep it simple with a 2-way design, but I figured I'd try something different.

Update:

Added the solid black walnut trim pieces. They're ripped from 4/4 solid boards, no bullchit fake crap for me. 45's on the corners for aesthetics. 3 coats sanding sealer, 5 coats lacquer ... polished with furniture polish and extra fine steel wool. Topped off with two coats of furniture wax. Well protected, fairly glossy.

They'll likely sit down here in the basement for quite a while.

They would match my office at work really well, so they just might wind up there.

I might go with the (aluminum?) Daytons from PE ... unless someone else has any other suggestions in a similar price range. The Daytons are really cheap, and I've heard that they perform decent for their price ... so I'd need similar if not better performance and a very similar price - unless clearly justified by a eleventy billion x wow factor with a better driver. Buying 4 x 7", 4 x 4.5", and 2 tweets is sucky - my fault, though.
