performance teknique amps?

Recommended Posts

has anyone heard these amps made by performance teknique?

Just checked their website for a few seconds. Noting that they don't mentions RMS power anywhere, I'd stay away. I didn't read any further into it.

I remember about 10 years ago that name showed up seemingly out of no where, all over eBay, pawn shops, flea markets. It seems as though they disappeared as fast as they came. If history is any indicator, I'd stay away.

never heard of them but they look cheap.....if your looking for a way to light your car on fire I can think of 100 ways to do it for under 5 bucks, save ya some cash. If you are worried about the price look around for a old rockford, kicker, sundown, etc.

Check out the SSA Store and pick up a Sundown SAE-1200D v.2

Or

Sundown SAZ-1000D for $275 shipped!

Go to the Sundown section, I believe they're running a deal on SAZ1000D's at the moment.

I take it that no one has heard one actually playing

So you are going to defend it?

I don't like manufacturers who rate all of their equipment with meaningless max ratings. Nor would I trust a "1200" watt RMS amp that only costs $170.

hell no I'm not defending it, I'm just wondering just like the OP asked. He asked if anyone heard the amps, and people are just telling him what else to get instead of answering the question. He didn't asked what amp would you recommend

lol i did the other day. it was by far the funniest stupidist thing ive ever seen...picture this 87 escort.... walled(kinda) 4 die hard batterieson the floor in the backseat....6 12inch superblues.....6 performance teknique 1500s plywood covering the air holes,,,,not ports air holes. the car had a 600$ 2 way alarm installd at a local shop by me and all the installers just walking out of the back shakin theyre heads and walkin back to the shop. the rear windows were spray paint like a chrome and je had a disco ball hanging were the dome light is. he had speaker wire and some other kind of cable to connect the batterys together. it was ghetto as hell and t answer the question....hell no it didnt sound good

It's an amplifier. It won't (or shouldn't) affect the sound at all. So asking how an amplifier sounds is not an appropriate question to ask. If he wanted to ask if they did rated power, were reliable, etc., those would probably be questions he's actually after. And the answer to both is no.

Well that's a pretty bad example as to the amps being junk, not that I disagree, but don't knock Superblues, they'll surprise you. Richard Clark used to defend the hell out of them back in the day.

x2, if you like it and it fits your budget and install needs then get it. Please make better questions in the future, amps will do there job that is why some are still on shelves, does it mean it will do rated power or will others buy it is a different question. So you shouldnt ask a question that will lead to answers that are personal or bias for future reference.

UMMM I didn't ask the question, the OP did. And i said ( i take it nobody has actually heard one playing) because no one answered his question of hearing one . Not saying that I've heard one or even seen one. Maybe i should have put a question mark behind it. Get off the high horse damn!!!!

I know you didn't ask the question. I was referring to the OP since he was the one who asked how it sounds.
