How would these batteries do?

I have two giant bulldozer batteries in my barn, hold charge fine. All they say on them is Deka 8C12, 90 min, and extreme deep cycle. They are open cell with acid in them so that's why I'm worried. Would they work as secondary batteries in the back?

No they are not to be used inside of a vehicle.

I believe those are 24v batteries. Could be wrong, but usually dozers run 24v for hydraulics and such.

they look like 12v to me, each cap is a cell, and each cell is generally a little bit above 2 volts.. and since i see 6 caps i would bet thats its a 12v battery.. but like they said i would not use it in the cabin of a vehicle

on a side note the parts store i work for sells deka batteries and they are actually fairly decent

They're 12v. That's what i was thinking, open cell = not for car.

They are good batteries and the reason for the screw tops is so you can check the acid level and maintain that level. They are not maintenance free. I would not use these in an auto.

I would not use them, but you can as long as you put them in a safe place where you can check them on a weekly basis.

I wouldn't feel safe with something that is acid filled in my ride plus that I have to watch it so closely in case something happens.
