The Impala is Fixed!!!

Recommended Posts

Well guys, my friend and I spent 9 - 10 hours fixing my baby today. We put on headers and high-flow cats, replaced the water pump, optispark, spark plug wires, and spark plugs, deleted the air pump, and did an oil change.

I know I could never show myself around here again if I didn't get pics so here ya go:

Some random parts:

The headers, cats, and gaskets:

Taking the old crap off:

Is it just me or does this look a lot like blood?

Rear axle and brake:

Yes, it's quite obvious my car came from the east coast:

Driveshaft and other rear suspension stuff:

It looks so lonely:

I think I have too much wheel gap:

Take the cat's off if you live in a state w/o regulations. i have 2 on my truck that are comming off and 2.5" pipe to match as soon as i have money and i can refain from buying audio stuff. Louder + Better fule economy. Who cares if my exaust smells like real exaust and the tree huggers will hate me.

otherwise, nice stuff

what oil is that? nothing buy Mobil 1 full synthetic for my baby.

How are the knuckles? Headers>me when it comes to installations without wounds. Did you start her up with just the headers? I love the sound of real non-existent exhaust.

Just wondering what you thought of them - IMO, I could get used to them, but I don't think they'd be my first choice.

They don't quite look like they fit on the Imp--too squarish and to me it looks like the offset is way off. I see a lot of SS's running around on rims with weird offsets like that though. I figure it is just some guy who went into any rim shop and bought some with the right bolt pattern. Makes it look like the car was designed 20 years ago with the tires all tucked in by the axles. IMO, Tom's cars would benefit from some meats that fill the well and some space in the rim.

Nice pics!! Is she running better then before? I noticed a large bit of low end torque increase when I put my headers, cats, and flowmasters on my old truck. Plugs and wires are a + too. Last, that antifreeze definatly looked like it was time for a flush. Oh, and I dont like the wheels on the black one either.

oh yeah, you could feel it was definitely time for a tune up before

one of the plug gaps was atleast an 1/8 inch :o

and afterwards... :D

in regards to the other Impala's rims, i believe they were on it when he bought the car
