Well right now im focoused on the SPL set up, which means dB Drag, which means vehicle off...Im fixing to order the recone kit for the DP and soon after the basket. So beyond that i just need an amp, but there is no way in hell my parents will spring for the kind of power i need.

a CD player with pause would be nice but a nice one to compare with my 3434 would cost more than ~$200.

Then there is materials for the SPL enclosure but i'd rather not get a bunch of MDF, Body Filler, Fiberglass, and 6" PVC for my birthday...

For a burp deck, what do you care what it has in it Alpine and Pio both make several models under $200, all of which have pause buttons...

but id rather not have to be constantly stwitching decks, takes too much time/effort and im lazy. And i like SQ on the way to the competitions (most are over an hour from me) so i'd have to switch decks at the competition and be constantly resetting my gains. Boo!

2 decks, now that is an idea...are burp decks allowed in the glove compartment in dB Drag? burp buttons and decks outside the vehicle are a big no no in the street classes.

You can run a sub-$200 deck, and run an outboard processor in the future to give you the flexibility of a higher-end one. A 7 or 10 band parametric EQ would be plenty, and it could be bypassed for SPL runs.

Webster used to do this with an Alpine 9807 (IIRC), and a Memphis EQ...worked perfectly.

If u are into the SPL scene as well as the SQ scene u could always get an epic center to feed some SPL need and toy around with plus have some cash left over to buy ice cream and cake...
