First of all, neither MLV or deadener bounce any waves by design, the MLV will absorb them though. Second, IF the waves were some how sped up it would cause the frequency to rise which would be VERY bad in any situation and screw everything up in the response. It's still not a stupid question, or theory. Nothing wrong with trying to think outside the box, and if you don't ask you'll never learn anything.

I highly recommend you take the time to research enclosure design and build the enclosure yourself. It will be very rewarding if done correctly. If not Argent Audio makes nice custom enclosures.

From past experience using both series of drivers .... I thought the SSD was an overall better driver. Just my .02.

Was getting ready to say the exact same thing. You want bracing to reduce panel flexing, not CLD.

That is still a waste because you are using the wrong materials for it. Steel beams would work a hell of a lot better.

Oh, and demo these awesome subs for anyone at any time! I've had people ask "what is SSA?" So basic product knowledge is a plus. Then knock their socks off with a demo an watch the reaction on their faces when the first note hits. Most reactions I've had are "Daaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmnnnnnnn!!!!!!" Just be friendly, respectful, & represent SSA to the best of your ability. I'd drive to demo these Icons if I was asked. If the distance is real far just meet me half way (within reason) If I can't do it, I'd do my best to at least find another member who's closer.

Ha. There is NOTHING you can hear that you can't measure. Your ear sucks in comparison to a measurement mic.

Hi Jon, It is now 2011 and I am curious to hear how you are doing! It sounds great that you need to make holes in your belt. I just wanted to comment about support from family and friends that don't understand us big guys can't have resses pieces, cake, pie, ect. In my house its just my father and I. He shows his love for me by buying sweets cuz he knows thats what I love (even though its killing me). I have ALWAYS had no willpower, so now that its a new year I have made my mind up to be strong in the fight and know the outcone will be more rewarding than the 2 minutes of extacy from the cake! You have inspired me as I am 477lbs and ready for the journey to begin. I ordered a set of Tony Little (Body Express) dvd's and I'm getting a 100lb punching bag for cardio. Thanks for your story! Can We please get an update???????? Edit: Just wanted to say, Great advice here! I will be employing several things to my daily routine. Thank you all! "why go to a weight loss website when you can get what you need from SSA"

Alrighty the weather prevailed a little bit so was able to finish installing for the most part. Battery didn't show up at Les Schwab so the install isn't totally complete. But on with the pics. Internals of the Audiopipe 3000.1D Checking the box in the hatch area. Empty hatch area. Quite a mess. The tray under the false floor. Cut out 2 holes that will let me slide the yellow tops in nicely. One of the yellow tops in. Will have to wait for the other one till next week. Box with the Xcons inside. Sitting at idle at the amp. If the weather is nice again tomorrow I will try to get some vids. I managed to scare my mom and my sister today and didn't get either on film.....fail I know.

Thanks all for the compliments and friend requests. About the pm regarding the wire covers, i did have better pictures of the sides: They are made from quarter inch mdf and fitted onto a small central pin. The fit is so tight i could have pressure fitted them, but they would likely fall out when the BtL gets going... Cheers and good luck with your install. Mimicry is the best form of flattery, im glad to help.

Ok update time: I ripped the baffles off and redid them, also redid the middle partition since I had to go buy more mdf anyways. Measuring out the center of each baffle. First actual cut. Circle in the background was my test run. During all this didn't even realize UPS had shown up. Sitting pretty. Input side of amp. Controls. Test fitting the baffle. After inserting the hurricane nuts. Caulking. Same from other side. Backside is put on. Inside before caulking the backside. First coat of paint. Behr Flat Black. Waiting on my dayton binding post to show up, and to finish painting the box. Will have to continue next week. Really glad I redid the baffle after buying a circle jig. Hopefully have everything to hear by next weekend.

Box is aprox. 4 cubes in my calculations. I'd say an SSD! If you want SQ sorta type stuff, the Q. But both can handle the power from that amp
