SS in a SS

Recommended Posts

Well, I picked up some deadener from Ant at SecondSkin last weekend so it was time to start the install. I'm doing the floor first since the front doors and trunk are already done. I may pull off the eDead already on those areas because it's been basically a huge nightmare. This is also a good opportunity to clean my interior since the carpet is definitely showing its 12 year age.

80 sq feet of Damplifier, 15 sq feet of Damplifier Pro, 2 rolls of Rattlepad, a quart of Spectrum, and a Speaker Tweaker kit

What I started with and yes, my steering wheel has been cleaned since then

Glad to see you're doing the floor. Seemed to me like it was way easier than the doors.

Good Start. I would love to hear some impressions on the speaker tweaker's when you get them installed.

Will do.

And I'd just like to say that SS is much easier to install than the asphalt based stuff I've previously used. You don't need to heat it up, and it doesn't leave molten asphalt everywhere. Also, it seems like it slices up your hands less.

It's a good thing you don't have any wild parties to go to this weekend, or hot babes to take out.

:P :P

Should notice some nice improvements :)

First GM product that I have seen without rusted-through floorboards. :P

Hey DGGM 95 are rarer.JK

Where did you run that power cord from on the drivers side, because I had on heck of a time finding a place and when I did I ran it on pass. right below the wire bundle on that side?

Got to LOVE the impala will you be making it to ISSCA Nationals 08?

I know, is that what you have? Be sure to post pics of your Impalas.

The power wire is on the passenger side. It comes down over the inner fender and then through the floor at the front of the passenger foot well. I can get a pic if you want.

Nope, I'm doing the Hot Rod Power Tour which is at the same time so I can't make it this year.

Update from the last week:

I've covered the entire floor in one layer, ~40 sq feet

More to come.

The floor is done!

There's 12 sq feet of Damplifier Pro, 44 sq feet of Damplifier, and a little Spectrum.

Time to start putting things back together.

Love me some zipties:

And this is why eDead is the worst purchase I've ever made. You can see where that one piece used to be and where the larger one has slid down about an inch:
