Interesting...

hey jacob why dont you use a spacer with that basket to increase the travel lenght??

When doing so you actually need to use a spacer AND need to cut out the hole in the bottom of the basket larger (it is just big enough for the 3" coil to go through). I may experiment with that... the basket already has 6.75 mm spacers under it for cooling channels.

Nice! I need 32 sent to my address. Thanks.

*laughs*

If you are serious I may have to do a production run of them.

Other than that... the 10s will likely remain limited special order / if you blow your sub and send your motor back I can build one type thing.

When are you gonna do another production run anyways?

Very deep *laughs*

I'll have to measure on Monday :)

Logan,

Not sure... but I will be getting a bunch of extra motors so I can build more customized drivers as custom re-cones have been a big deal so far.

Jacob, How much power can they hold? When can I get 12 of them or do they come in 12's. If not the truck is all ready for 10's..

I have plenty of 12s but not enough motors to build 12 more 10s :)

You could get 12s whenever you want, it is a Nightshade. The "stock" Nightshades that are in stock now are optimized for 1500 watts.

Not sure if I missed it, but do these require inverted mounting or a spit baffle??? Oh, and did you get a chance to measure it's mounting depth Jake? I use to compete locally in what we refered to as Class A, single 10"/dual 8" setups. In fact both yama168(Myron) and I placed in the top 3 at the last comp we had here. One or even a couple of these would be fun to fool around with!

Sky,

There is 1/8" clearance from the mounting hole to the motor on each side.

Simply don't have enough motors to build a bunch of them right now.

----------

I cut the hole larger in the bottom of the 4-spoke for more inner spider clearance. I need to figure out an easier way... tried my dremel and that wasn't working, and then finally got it with my jig-saw after breaking the blade off 5 times.

Most of theirs is basket depth :)

I have an SVC 4 ohm here... and a friend of mine has one as well.

I think I will stick with your "interesting" nightshades for my next Street A build.

any update on the return of being able to build these little monsters?

I have motors being built - they aren't in yet.

Custom Nightshade 10... I am building it for a guy.

May need to build 8 more later for an extreme SPL car to be used with 8x 3000Ds. That car does 159.6 with two 3000s and 8x SI BM 10s :)

you said 159.6 with ONLY 2 3000s!!!

Yes, you are correct - on 12 volts.

This vehicle does have a concrete floor and lexan windows, though!

We expect it to break 170 dB with Nightshades and eight 3000Ds :)

Hmmm look what I found!? LOL Could you poss. use a similar oversized basket like I have on my current subs? Work well and allow for more excursion and were meant for 9500 series like motors.th_075-1.jpg

th_077-1.jpg

At least thats what I was told. LOL I'm no sub builder. :P
