A switch under the radio turns them all on at once 8 for the subs and 4 others (two in each amp)

Man I'm tuned in for this build, it's gonna be great!!

We did something very similar to the doors, around the mids (4 ea. door) on an EX club members car. Lit up, looked awesome, really sucked though as I fronted him the money and never got a dime back. As a result I'm VERY picky about who I help out now. /RANT (sorry)

BACKLIT, FROSTED PLEXI FTW!!!! woot.gif

Nice to see the sounddeadenershowdown tiles put to use.

While you had the doors off did you seal the holes in the door ? Makes a big difference.

Right on Mike, you da man! :drink40: Now I'm even more sad that the 8's release got pushed back  I'll be closing the holes up in the spring/summer and ordering some more stuff (MLV & CCF) from Don @ sound deadener showdown. I'm in the process of eventually changing the guages, temp controls, and window/door lock switches to blue from the factory green along with ordering a Pioneer AVH-P42000DVD when it's released.

Coming together nicely! Pretty quick too.

Thanks! I just might do that for some pointers. Hate to sound like an inconsiderate prick, but I do like doing my own work. I really appreciate the offer though. Like I said, I may give you a call for some info on the Plexi work. Looks like you really know your plexi well.

X2 on the epoxy question, never heard of using epoxy before, though I can see where it would have the same benefits as resin with a little added flexability, maybe.

I didn't he did not have enough to do that, I wanted to do the firewall too, but we have some budget constraints. So far it has made the overall ride much quieter though.

Also Epoxying the door panels makes them very heavy and they tend to resist vibration better after that treatment.

*a little update* Mike has the bedliner getting sprayed and cured. The weather has sucked, we took a trip down to Louisville for Carl Casper, and he's been slammed with other builds. We figured since the release of the 8's got pushed back, there wasn't a big rush to finish up the install. I'm hoping to have everything but the 8's in the truck by tues or wed this next week. I'll have Mike post pics as soon as something worth posting happens....LOL :drink40:

There are many build logs that go into them more, use the search feature.

**UPDATE** As some may have seen on the SA8 presale thread, the original box design didn't have enough port area. We went back to square one and now we are using 3-4" PSP's in 5 cubes. The entire build, from the amp rack, to the enclosure design has been changed. A glass viewing window (to see those sexy asses!) across the front baffle above the ports is going to be used with blue LED's inside the box. The top and front will be double baffled and the subs/ports/glass will be recessed. The amp rack will still use the plexi over the amps and the blue LED's, but it will be relocated to between the rear seat and the enclosure. The amps will sit horizontally and be recessed behind a beauty panel. The Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD will hopfully be ordered next friday (payday :drink40: )
