Damn this e8a

Recommended Posts

Well, I am/was using an e8a for sub duty in my dorm room. Well, playing nothing rediculus, it was working fine. Came back from lunch, turned on a little bass. Nothing. fudge. Soo, i pull it outa the box, i have came to the realization that one coil is screwed. I have one working coil on it, so I might just be using one coil till I get around to buying an Assassin 8...I wanted one of them, but now I have an excuse. holy crap. I liked this little woofer too. Is it possible to get a recone of it?

Cliffnotes, One coil on my ED e8a is screwed, one works. Recone possible?

Most likely buying an assassin 8 now.

:stupid:

I'm sure TC could recone it (probably not with another flat cone though), but by that time it'd probably be just as fruitful to purchase a new subwoofer.

The SS Rl-i8 should have very comparable performance.

How would the assassin 8 compare to the e8a?

this pisses me off, first my woofer coil craps out, then I lok down and my pucking timex watch just busted (its like 2 weeks old)

DAMNIT

Its been a crappy day.

Yep, its fudgeed. one coil works, but when you play it, it scratches like no other. Now the question turns into what to do with a blown 8?

Wall socket vid? Or serious power from a behringer on test tones?

Ok, seriously, could I take this motor and make it a entirely different 8" or a 10 or somethin?

I want to do this, I don't really want to buy something new, and I was kinda fond of the woofer. Just wondering if it is feasable to make it work again.

Thanks

wall socket doesnt last long

i say use the Behringer and send it 20hz at full tilt

You should be able to get a recone if a company will let you.

either recone it, should be possible, but no flat cone i'm sure.....

or rl-i8...they are lil monsters..

and free air off the behringer with the 20 hz notes gets my vote!!!!

btw, i have a pair of clarion 8's that might be for sell, svc4ohm. on the dl...think re8

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:
