Not making fun, just an easy nickname for us to keep all these people straight. I think its a north east thing. Unless you are a one named person like Prince or Ramos or Madonna or Captain or webster. :drink40:

Got most of the deadening done today. Burned through a huge box of it. Thanks to Second Skin Audio for such a fine product! :woot:

Ok, since the roof was the worst part of this blazer, we put 4 layers on that bad boy and let me tell you, it's solid now. I hope those 18's don't rip this apart. On to the pics.

We ended up using expanding foam between the cross bars and the roof for added rigidity.

ssaudio- about how much of that deadening did you use for that whole truck? in terms of sq footage?

Post pics of the bracing in that box! I'm always curious how others do it in large boxes.

update...

Well going into this build we knew that there where two huge main concerns with the "prep" work.

1. Make that roof solid

2. Get rid of all the rattles that have plagued that poor blazer (GM's poor design)

So, after 4 layers deep on the roof I feel confident that we solved that problem but the squeaks and rattles where a whole new issue now that we got to put the truck back together. Since we didn't get to the doors yet deadener wise (ran out) I thought i'd run down to the fabric store and pick up all new fasteners for the doors since those cause alot of the squeaks.

Added all new fasteners to the doors, carefully assemblied the rest of the truck back to it's original self and isolated only two rattles left which I feel confident we can fix tomorrow with some double sided sticky tape. Here's a few pics of the truck back together...then it's on to the box and the rest of the system...anyways, here's a few pics.
