Looks like a HC motor tacked onto a w0 basket with the w0 motor on the bottom

the bottom black motor looks about the size of a w0 motor. Im just taking a stab in the dark, its the first time ive ever seen that picture, I have no clue what that driver even is.

Eh, that what I meant it was late. Maybe I was asking why not a cast basket. I dont remember.

RE proto type

Its an all out SPL sub ( hence the massive madnet)

Stamped steel basket because its a proto type.

The final product ( if its made) will have the 12 spoke cast
