quality of my fi btl n3

Recommended Posts

ok i just got my fi btl n3 today been waiting a month for them

they look like something from outer space

i was inspecting them and i see some metal shavings around the magnets dont look 100 percent centered and the glue that was applied some parts are black then turn white

is this normal

quality control?

Pictures?

But yes most of what you stated is normal.

Minus the shavings. But having such a high strength magnet, it can be very hard to keep any metal from it.

Looks good.

As far as quality, your not going to get much better.

All American made.

The whiteish glue your talking about it is around the spiders correct? This is caused adding a fast acting drying agent instead of having to leave pressure on the area while it dries. Doesn't effect anything. Just makes it a heap faster.

As far as miss aligned, its almost impossible to get it a 100% perfect. Most companies put boots over the magnet just because of that. It covers it up for most to never see.

It is impossible to get them to line up 100% perfect.

There is not any metal shavings inside of that cylinder that you see in the middle that surrounds the coil. If there are shavings on the outside that is typical.

Nice! Now get to building. :peepwall:

The white stuff you see around the spiders is probably a little off gassing between the CA adhesive and the activator they use to cure it. Sometimes that stuff off gasses a bit and leaves a white residue. A couple of shaving on the exterior shouldn't really affect much. Like someone said it's hard to keep that sh$t off with such strong magnets. Good luck with the build. :drink40:

I've had my N3 for a few weeks, no metal shavings, dried glue, or anything abnormal with it.
