How would 2x15" sealed compare to a single 12" ported.

Recommended Posts

I don't have the car anymore, have a 2005 Civic Coupe now.

I'd go with a pair of sealed 12s.

How come you'd choose two 12's sealed over two 15's sealed?

Because I'm a bad motherfucker and I like having some trunk space.

Sweet!

Yeah, been searching for some dual 15 sealed setups on youtube,

Seems legit.

I would also consider doing 2x15" SSA GCON's sealed.

Or Skar VVX-15's sealed.

Or original idea of RE Audio SEX 15's sealed.

Not sure what to do here, but those three subs I like.

Not sure if the extra wattage and enclosure space is worth it to choose the GCONS over the others, and if the SEX compare somewhat equal to the VVX's, on a price point I might as well just get the SEX.

Seriously not a choice. Gcon>SEX>>>>>>>VVX

I don't know what VVX is, but if you think GCON's are better than sex, you're doing it wrong... unless you're in prison. biggrin.png

VVX is a venereal diease I think.

LMAO.... that's too funny.... you really set that one up.....

To the OP, these guys are giving some real good advice and I would heed the warnings about the box being in the back seat.

Says the guy with an enclosure in cabin as well. ;)

Was also checking PSI Platform 1 15's. Might be another good option. Decent price. Seems like good bang for buck.

i'd go with the gcon over the psi.

listed ts parameters for the psi are incorrect on the site so you cant even model them. sd should be >800. looks like specs for the 12"

T/S Parameters for standard Platform 1 15":

Revc = 2.9001 ohms

Fms = 27.8340 Hz

Zmax = 21.4774 ohms

Qes = 0.7948

Qms = 5.0914

Qts = 0.6875

Sd = 490cm^2

Vas = 70.3680 L

BL = 10.3991 N/A

Mms = 169.4703 g

Sensitivity = 84.5559 dB @1W/1m

Sensitivity = 88.9626 dB @2.83Vrms/1m

Xmax = 32mm total

Usable Excursion = 3" total
