Weird ported box shape question

What is the consensus on usability of the volume of air behind the red panel ?

This a box for an RE SE 15, that should go in a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant, very weird trunk and it's a 2-piece box.

Box height is not enough at this point but I can get it 1/2" taller, which should be good to go.

Paint in port looks a bit shitty since I ran out of primer and the MDF absorbed most of it and the flash really makes any paint detail stand out.

The spare is accessible, albeit it takes a bit of effort.

All in all the customer is pleased, too bad he's using a very small amp and the results are far from what they can be. The SE would really sing with close to 1000w in this box.
