Well Matt if what you want can't be had at this point is it worth waiting for?

Or do you have a need for something asap?

That will help make things easier for you.

I need something now. So buying something that isn't what I really want ultimately puts me back a few years. A little gift money and what I saved up will buy just about anything I could dream about(Italians aside)

But I cannot afford it to fail. Engines are too expensive on German cars.

For me.

Right now.

The only cars that I could buy that seem to be reliable and trip my trigger are the big V8 S Klasse benzes.

Lowest cost of ownership in the fun land yachts.

Buy a Lexus LS or Town Car with some boost and you'll be out ahead and always have money left in the bank due to low repair costs.

I'll get a big old truck like Swift, be responsible, and concentrate on earning more to afford what I really want.

I know that feeling Matt, but you know what you need to do to get what you want.

There is a Chinese phrase called eating/tasting bitter.

It applies.

Sorry dude, responsibility does suck.

Does a grown man do what he wants despite risk or does he do what will be generally accepted as the right choice.

The real question is are you more jewish than someone who lives near you.

It is horrible though when you diligently save up for exactly what you want. Put all the effort in to afford it. Then come down to it and "realize" you can't.

Story of my life. Of course at this rate my house will be paid for before I am 45.

I should have both places paid off close to then. But I hope to have a much nicer house and maybe not quite be paid off by then.

Don't want to give up the tax shelter!

Some of this cash fell from the sky, but that just means I could blow it.

I just cannot live under a swinging $20000+ engine swap for a DD.

I could blow it on a truck that can be fixed on the cheep by myself, friends and find parts all over.....

I'm not "THERE" yet. Having something that could set me back even a few years finance wise as a car I rely on is not something I can deal with.
