That's an 'as yet unnamed' prototype sample that came in with one of the orders. looks interesting doesn't it? I'll post more info on it when I get the chance...

kinda looks like a blueprint sub, except it only has double stacked magnets. i want one !

They were definitely thinking underhung when they came up with this design. I calculated Xmax at 11mm given its voice coil length. If they had low distortion in mind, I'm sure they achived it with this unit...

Hi dj,

Currently, it is only available in 8 Ohms. If there is enough interest / commitment, I will get a run of 4 Ohm units.

You're right, the blueprints sure look similar.

I am not sure if you have seen them before, but Group Buys have been successful in the past. It is a win win for both parties. The company (ie YOU) gets to move a large number of units at once, and the buyer gets a good product at a little discount. You don't have to just an idea.

Also sqeak, a member here tried very hard to get a short run 18" model for the members here at SSA, but due to the cost from Adire, he was not able to do the minimum order. Maybe he might want to see about doing it with your 18.

I just dont like the 8 ohm thing but i think 4 ohms would be perfect for my amp.. 8 in series is 4, so yea, that may work out..

Yeah, a group buy would certainly be an option. If I can move these things before they take up permanent residence I'd be a happy DIYer.

I received some prelimiary data on the proposed 15" unit to finish off the MAW line. Tell me what you guys think:

MAW-15

Fs = 24.6Hz

Re = 4 Ohm (both coils connected in series)

Qms = 5.06

Qes = 0.35

Qts = 0.33

Rms = 7.2kg/s

Cms = 0.18mm/N

Mms = 236.7gr

Bl = 20.4

SPL = 90.9 (geez why not just say 91)

VAS = 190L

Le = 2.41mH

Everything's in that thread....T/S specs, Bl & Kms curves as well as the motor design that would have been used and pics of what it would have looked like. Pretty much everything was done but having the proto built.....

I really think that would have been one sweet IB driver.
