For the sub stick with an xcon. There is nothing anywhere near the same price point that compresses as much air while sounding damn good. As far as having one "custom built" that aint gonna happen. And before anyone says "well I can send in my motor to so and so and...........". Nope all they gonna do is take an off the shelf cone, off the shelf edge, off the shelf coil, and off the shelf spider to match something up close to what should sound good. Take advantage of Scott's humpteen years of FEA'ing, designing, and building subs and get what is proving to work. And for the box, two 12's in a small properly built enclosure will be the same size if not a little larger than the one you have now. Surely you can alter the deminsions but it will still take up as much volume. And since you already stated you don't know much who ever builds the enclosure DO NOT say I want it tuned to 30-32 hertz if what you are looking for is a low F3. It is very well possible to build an enclosure with a higher F3 than the tuning frequency. But we're not gonna get into that. So I say two xcon 12's And without doing any modeling. 1.75-1.85 net 14 inches of port per sub tuned around 27 to 28 should end up with F3 around 27ish. But that's off the top of my head

You can always sacrifice frequency response for output, where you choose in the compromise is up to you. That being said, is there something about your current Xcon (besides output) you want to improve? Btw, there is no one or few T/S parameters you can look at and know it is right which is why no one answered at first.

Curious what you don't like about the drivers offered here for that application? Screams Xcon generically speaking. I don't like to be generic, but considering you are just wondering about drivers for that box it would work and they will all be similar in make up. .....glad you added the net....

FOR A BUILD LIKE THIS, IM PROBLY GOING TO NEED SOME HEAVY BRACING!!!!!...THIS SHOULD WORK!

One of the only real things I learn from this site is how big of an arseho M5 is. It doesnt matter what the topic, brand, newb, veteran or anything else. He never fails to be a complete arseho with some smart ass comment. I think he or (you if your reading) truely bring down this entire site. This almost has nothing to do with this thread in general. Its almost every single thread the arseho posts in.

Is it personal? I may be a young gun in the car audio world and i obviously look up to him. He has turned into what started as a hobby into something much bigger. That is like a dream for most of us enthusiast isnt it? i mean why not make money off from something you absolutely love. Why do you care what I think? You are old enough to make your own opinions and don't like mine anyways. No daddy, I didn't mean it like that!

What kind of problems? Some are trying to disrespect me, by telling anything bad they can about me, and about the ssa woofers ! Saying they heared too much about them, they only plays low notes,...But I don't mind ! I let them speak with their Audiopipe and Audiotop woofers in tiny ported boxes with hazardous tuning !!! Very few people have great sounding bass in their car, so they are jealous when they heared something amazing ! You are even happier now pounding on your BTL

Bit of an update, Took collection of my door speakers off Am on Friday, so I went about fitting them. One of the mid range speakers was faulty so sent it back over and should have my replacement one in the coming days Put 4 cans of expanding foam on the roof and some on the rear quarters, have marked out the second skin of the roof now in 18mm MDF, this will be cut and applied tomorrow all going well. Also cut a piece for the floor section which will be the size of the box for the Mayhems, will build it up over the next few days, should have a back wall and side walls up by the next time I update this. But here's pics of how it stands now in all its Ghetto Glory I have set the cross over's using the Imprint processor so the front end is fully active, the """SQL""" out of these speakers is amazing, can get very loud and still stay crystal clear Plus the carbon fibre cones look the dogs danglys More to come soon

Well I have finally started on the woodwork side of things today, Got the roof lining down and out, measured up and cut a piece of MDF to suit. Used small metal brackets to tie the Piece to the roof, another run of MDF will go over this (18mm) Also removed the Handle for the sunroof, painted the glass black, and bonded it to the roof, will seal it tomorrow to make it water tight. Also made a start on my doorcards, looking very plain now but open to ideas on what to do to fill the gap on the outside of the card Some pics: More updates soon

Updated Amp Board: This amp may be small but way heavier than the Sundown SAX-125.2 and the amp board it sits on combined.

Similar idea, but different limitations. The AA is pretty much the top of the heap in terms of a driver for music that takes big power. This is exactly how I would describe it.
