Tough call!

When I ordered a dell tower we called as number 1 of 2 boxes (the one with the moniter) didn't arrive. They were cool and over nighted a second one as the shipping guy said "oops, still sitting here".

Well we got 2 boxes then a couple days later, completely different in shape and location they came from. We now had two moniters. We sat and thought on it... I eventually called for some dumb reason. They basically said they wanted it back but only if I would pay to ship it to them. So an extra 25 bucks or so maybe a touch more. I told them no go, send me a box or shipping slip and I'll get it done. The rep basically said she understood and would just write it off and not to worry about it as the invintory would be off and it would probably cost more to ship/restock it than it would to resell it.

random question: any good reference books for sports nutrition/body building supplements? websites are nice and all but I like having physical copies to thumb through

What kind of info are you looking for? Lots and lots and lots of books. I've read 30 plus books from the real basic general ideas and all the way down to extreme finite information.

Just a basic n00b's guide, more or less; I'm not trying to be Bruce Lee or a bodybuilder or anything as serious as that. Just a little more here and there is all. I sure as hell don't want to put myself in a diabetic coma with some of the crap they have on the shelves either.

Peng, I'll be 100% honest.

For a practical approach find a BB guide. Something hardcoreish. It will be your best practicle guide. BBers are by nature minmax people. If it's a solid book it will tell you to stick to the extreme basics and to do it cheep. You may not want to follow the 2 grams of protein per pound of desired weight, but they will give you a much more practicle approach to how nutrition works in vivo. It's results oriented and is a no BS kind of approach usually.

If they push any suplements hard other than protein and vitamins and maybe creatine/ephedra they are probably selling you snake oil. Most medical nutrition books will give you much more science with case studies but 99,9999% of the time those case studies don't apply. Case in point osteoperosis and protein consumption. Study shows a group of people who ate more protein lost calcium/bone density. This stud was on mostly women, they were all elderly, and almost everyone was currently going through some form of bone loss issues and were sedantary to the extreme.

recently the army did a study with paratroops. Low and behold they GAINED bone density on an increased protein diet. Of course their impact and resistance training makes them more apt to have healthy more dense bones. The high protein group was still higher than the average.

The most important thing is don't take anything too seriously. If it's something that works really well, it's common sense and should be done anyway, or else it's a strong drug and will probably have side effects. Verry few things are inbetween.

Dumb question here. What is the best way to get more protein other than protein shakes? I've tried them before and I just almost couldn't stomach the crap. I'm assuming more meat, chicken, and eggs?

"Dear Sir,

Your order 100719110540 left Monday July 19th via expedited parcel post. However, we may have sent you the wrong unit as we only had one 10” and one 12” before we sent your order and we now have one 10” and no 12” driver. Therefore when you receive your order, can you let us what model you actually received so we can take the appropriate action.

Thank you for your cooperation,

Regards, "

So I ordered another Aura 10" driver, and then I got this email a few days later. Lovely, concidering that shit is coming from Canada and takes for fucking ever to get here. Not to mention how hard its going to be to give them the 12" back, I know I am just going to want to keep it.

Just by a second 12" if they sent you one. 12's in doors. Go big or go home !

Yogurt & other dairy products, eggs, fish, beef, pork, poultry, peanuts & other legumes

I'm not sure which are the best proteins (can't remember even half of the nutrition class I took as a matter of fact) though

Best protein sources are fish, eggs, lean meat, and poultry. This would be a great whole food list and probably in order. Fish get top spot because of healthy fats. Each of these have their pros and cons actually but they would be the go to sources.

Beans and legumes are cool. Milk products are good, but you usually have to deal with a lot of carbs or a lot of fat per gram of protein.

Protein shakes are really just for specialised consumption really. They can help with performance a lot but it's by no means even close to needed.

New exemptions to the DMCA have been passed by the Library of Congress:

First, and arguably most importantly, is an exemption for DVDs you legally own, giving everyone (not just film and media studies majors!) the right to break DRM for the purposes of both "documentary filmmaking" and "noncommercial videos." The first is rather specific, of course, but the broadness of the latter is impressive. As long as you aren't charging money for it or profiting off it, it's noncommercial. Go ahead, rip and remix Inception so that it actually makes sense.

Second, and another huge one, is an exemption that allows you to jailbreak your phone—100% legally—and run the applications of your choosing. As Ars Technica points out, this is almost certainly a direct shot at Apple and the battle over jailbroken iPhones. Since computer code is classified as a literary work under copyright law, and, as the Library of Congress pointed out, jailbroken firmware alters "fewer than 50 bytes of code out of more than 8 million bytes, or approximately 1/160,000 of the copyrighted work as a whole," Apple's infringement claims have been totally bogus.

The third exemption is for software that would unlock your phone for use on a different network. Again, a loss for Apple and AT&T. As we've commented, this won't stop Apple from continuing to lock jailbreakers out through firmware updates and voided warranties, but the issue was clearly of enough importance to prompt Apple to issue a strongly worded defense of its practices before the federal government.

The fourth exemption is narrower than the first three, granting the right to crack video or computer game DRM (such as SecuROM) for the purposes of research or "investigation." The language here is broad enough to give a little wiggle room (after all, anyone who's curious can investigate).

The fifth exemption is less exciting still, allowing you to bypass software protected by a hardware dongle that is either broken or no longer manufactured.

Finally, the sixth exemption will let you crack the DRM on encrypted eBooks to have the text read aloud, even if this function is explicitly prohibited by copy protection. This is great news for the blind and otherwise visually impaired.

At least we're fixing some problems of previous administrations (read: Clinton)

so we went to Wally World for a few things (I know, I know) and out of morbid curiosity I strolled through the meat and seafood section when I saw something. This has to be an isolated incident, I thought to myself. But then I saw it again...and again...and again. Turns out every steak, every chop, every roast, every piece of unprocessed, non-frozen beef, poultry, and pork in that store was marinated or brined in solution. Concentrations ranged from 5% all the way up to 20%. Disgusting.

Weird. Sams used to have the best meat. I really miss sams now that I switched to costco for some things. Costco is SO inconsistant on some items and the meat selection(read beef) is less that what I think is good.

Now the fucking computer says the printer is installed, but when I go to print there is nothing....

fucking windows 7 blows. This is fucking rediculous

I love Win7 :peepwall:

It's honestly Windows XP with the looks of Vista.

Guess I'm just frustrated. I don't know why I can't just hook up a printer and print.

When it works I really have enjoyed it.
