Beefy 10"

Recommended Posts

Well to answer the price question about the DD9500 series 10 if there are no dealers in your area you can get club price for 572 plus 50 for a carbon fiber dust cap plus shipping.. Also incase you didn't know Steve the owner of DD has built a new DD 99Z thats better than any sub probably ever made he claims. Us folks on the PWK forum are supposed to get first peek at these new beasts. So as soon as I know, you'll know ;)

Ok I've been looking around a lot and the beefiest 10" I can find is the dc level four xl, with 1500rms that is probably underrated... I dont know prices but are there other 10" above 1000rms that dont break the bank? I really wish fi made a 10" btl but that magnet is HUGE... Im considering a single 10" for primarily spl purposes but the better it sounds the happier I am :neil: ... so any suggestions?

stroker 10 is rated for 2000rms http://www.cerwinvega.com/stroker10.php

cerwin vega went south! No more from them since the owner turned the business over to his sons who ran it into the ground. :(

yea isnt the z series made form rare earth magnets like neod...ium... whatever lol, expensive stuff I can only imagine how amazing they are (and expensive gulp) if he claims probably better than any sub ever made, and I would believe that

so thats why cerwin vega isnt as good anymore... I love learning things!

of course... but 2000 watts is potentially louder than 500 watts, and if a sub cant handle 2000 watts and another one can, well im going to go with the one that takes more power, as long as its sensitivity isnt like... 75

btw scratch the btl idea i forgot it was a burp only design...

Do you realize that a sub only 6db more efficient will play louder with the 500 watts over one 6db less efficent with 2000 watts?

There are many subs that are 6db apart from one another....

so I really think I wanna stay fi, so the bl would be the way I go... how much power would I be safe with on one 10" bl with p chamfer, and how much more could I add with flatwind?

I have a 10'' Bl with p chamfer and universal and it takes 1000w in 1.6cubes easily. If it's going to be in 1.25 or under I bet it could take 1300+ daily.

lol the 10's next to the 18 look ridiculously small...

Im def gettin a 10" dual 1ohm BL with cooling once the AQ2200D is back in stock and a guy i know can buy my q15 and clarion amp... The AQ2200D puts out 1300 at 2ohms that should be fine even with cooling in a 1.3ish box right?
