How much did you spend on deadening?

Recommended Posts

Short story, bought a new amp locally, it makes my subs murderlize my back window (SUV)

About how much did you guys spend on deadening? I'm thinking of doing my front doors, the driver's and passenger's floors and the back hatch. I've never done this before so I don't know how much of anything I need and really don't wanna overkill. I will get some measurements this weekend but I'm just looking for input right now.

Probably gonna use SDS unless somebody comes in with something cheaper that's butyl and effective.

Give Don an email and give him your specific measurements on the areas you want to deaden. He won't charge you too much. I felt like he didn't have me buy enough, so i talked him into letting me buy more than what he recommended. Now i have extra haha

X2, Don is the man, i think i bought just ~$60 or so worth of CLD tiles and if used as he suggests you could do ALOT with that. Email him and tell him what exactly your doing and he will tell you what's needed. great guy.

Not surprising considering you compete with the geo, and nothing needs to be deadened behind a wall, and your doors and dash probably flex so much it's worthless to try and combat :P

Simple deadening materials wont do much of anything in that car, it needs steel bars and diamond windows as reinforcement! :P

I just bought some product from Don at SDS. I am doing my 4 doors (small sedan) for now (more later). For the full treatment:

-CLD Tiles

-Butyl Rope

-MLV

-CCF (1/8" and 1/4")

-Accessories

it was ~$200 + shipping.

Don is a great guy. He has responded to every email quickly. He answers every question in depth. He provides great instructions.
