not all their songs have great bass, but quite a few. and, all have positive messages.

Cool deal.... I'll give em a spin. Thanks!

My 4 year old lives my metal; Motionless In White, A Day To Remember, The Browning, etc.

Mine too.... Bullet For My Valentine seems  to be his favorite. All Shall Perish has some BRUTAL double kicks that seem to rival some of the rap bass. Give them a listen if you haven't! I'll check out The Browning.....never heard of them. Thanks!

Most dubstep/trap doesn't even have lyrics.  Macklemore usually has a good message behind his, but he does include explicit lyrics.  Hoodie Allen doesn't swear other than the occasional "damn" or "hell" for the most part.  Will Smith have good bass? LOL  Jake Miller doesn't swear much, or at all.  OCD is good.

Yeah, I had no idea Thrift Shop was as dirty as it was until I heard it on Slacker....wow! Haven't had any luck with Will Smith's tunes, lol..... but I'll give Hoodie Allen and Jake Miller a whirl. Thank you sir!

Christian rap is one of the last bastions of "kid friendly" lyrics nowadays.

You're pretty much right on that.....

flux pavilion, bro safari

On it....Thanks!

Play him some classical with pipe organs in it. Certainly has some low notws, and would expand the kids mind musically.

J

Ya know....not a bad idea. I've played and heard every type of music, exept that. Always sounded good in church... why not??? What's good?

This is a pretty good compilation disc to get you started. Here is another.

Thanks for the links! I'll check em out tonight.

Oh yeah....LL had some pretty good ones. The ones you named are the ones that I remember listening to back in the day. But it seems that a lot of their recordings just didn't have a lot of bass (or decent sq for that matter). I played Run DMCs King Of Rock the other day and was like....huh???? lol... Forgot Kurtis Blow though, I'll have to throw him on my presets. Thanks!

PSYPH MORRISON!!!! or DECAF MIXES

Heard some of the Psyph Morrison, and yes....I'll be picking up some of his stuff. As for Decaf, I have 33 zip files with hundreds of his mixes.... but there's A LOT of swearing in there. Take Pornstar for instance...WOW!!!ohmy.png But I do kick it when he's not with me. wink.png

Thanks! Another new one to check out....

Wow! I'm gonna have a lot of tunes to listen to this week.... correction, WE are gonna have a lot to listen to. biggrin.png  Thanks again everyone!! Keep em coming!

And while I'm here.... what other songs have bass that hits like Put On by Young Jeezy? That song makes my eyes jiggle! blink.png

Yes she is...... and that track almost put me in a trance. wacko.png lol Good stuff! Checked out another one of her's while I was at it. Nice!! Seems like the violin is making it's way into a lot of genres nowadays. Met Lyris Hung and her band HUNG at a show they did with us last year. Progressive heavy metal with electric violin. That chick was badass!!! But I guess when you've played with everyone from Trans Syberian Orchestra to Jay Z you gotta be top notch! She's not too bad on the eyes either... wink.png

Heres another bass heavy track...one of my favorites.

DUDE! That's sweeeet..... never knew that Radiohead did anything like that. I figured they all sounded like Creep. They got any others like that?

When youre by yourself and you really want to test your system, crank this.

To me it almost sounds like a jet coming in for a landing and can be absolutely violent!

http://www.realmofexcursion.com/audio/testtones/20Hz_to_120Hz_slow_warble.mp3

Wow! That is downright brutal! blink.png  I can't imagine that in some of the rides you guys have. Kinda reminded me of the DJ Magic Mike bass test.....only lower. Awesome!

Kris Kross, Lil Bow Wow, some Jay Z, maybe Outkast, Missy Elliot, Ludacris...most artists have clean and dirty versions but these guys are safer...Dj Magic Mike, Black Eyed Peas, Flo-Rida, there's more let me think...

The Cure - Lovesong

Heres a good bass beat and catchy, this video is a clean version but even if it was the dirty version not sure you'd catch what they're saying!

Not exactly kid friendly, but a classic bass remix for those times when you're by yourself.

Ok.... so what has happened to all the rap music nowadays? Used to be that there were SOME groups who made good heavy bass music without all the cussing, but it seems that every song to play through Slacker or Pandora is FULL of explicit lyrics! Don't get me wrong.... I crank 'em when I don't have my 10 year old with me, but It's pretty much a lost cause trying to find something that he can listen to with me. BTW.... I don't push it too hard with him (half volume) as I don't wanna damage his hearing, but he does love to hear some bass.

That being said.... can someone please point me in the direction of some kid friendly bass tunes to listen to with my little man?

Really????? -2 points for this? Sheeeeesh.... I thought this was done in good taste and would be useful to ANYONE with kids..... not just me. Oh well.....

Just a lurker here, but I thought I would throw in a few suggestions since I really like this thread.

On the metal end of the spectrum try out the album Messengers from August Burns Red and anything from Impending Doom.

I'm also a big fan of a dubstep artist called Awe, Check out the Eagle Soul EP. Lots of it sounds like music for Anime cartoons or old sega genesis games, but its cool stuff with great bass. Very clean and pretty low.
