DSS Tridents and Twisted Sounds S-10. Road to 166dBs

Recommended Posts

If it wasnt for the move, im sure this would of been done a few months ago.

this is true. Would have had a lot more time and money. The amps would of still taken time since they were not even a prototype when I started. Now they are in final production.

Nice progress Steve. :)

thank you sir. Chipping away at it slowly.

Actually, taking a lot longer than expected. I had the SS playing a d at it's first show in about a months time.

I've had this one around 6 months.

Well as long as the little men get to help time does not matter. :)

Had some time to install the new wheels on the little truck. Also installed the rear blocks. (4") I guess the front drop coils were back ordered.

Also had a shit ton of body work to do. I'm focusing on bigger dents, not small dings.it's a 23 year old truck with 200k miles. The biggest thing was the entire back wall was pushed it about 1/2". This in turn caused the previous owner to have to trim the rear plastic panels in order to fit. IMAG0721_zps19bf64d5.jpg

I noticed it when I was taping up around the enclosure but didn't put it together untill now. In my class I have to have un-modified panels above the window line. I went to the junk yard and grabbed a replacement and pushed the rear wall back where it belonged.

Now it looks like so...

That's not primer here, it's plastidip. The truck will be gray and windows, black

Interested in how the plastidip works out. I checked out some of the sites and youtube videos. You can do some crazy stuff with plastidip.

pretty much everything starts with a black or gray base. So at anytime I finally decide on a color, the base will already be done.

Nevermind the windows. That will be peeled off and windows tinted 5%.

Playing around with some ideas. No doubt this will change again. Went darker on the gray too.

That looks like a different truck. Amazing what some elbow greese will do... and a shop vac

Thanks bro. Will get better before it hits the streets. Front drop coils came yesterday. Now I can sit it down level.

The coverage and finished product is fantastic for a $6 can of spray dye.

Looking good, those dye cans really do some work.

Any plans on a front stage yet? Sorry if I missed it.

spl trucks don't play music, everybody knows that.

Just playing. I am undecided. I have a bunch of options. I have a ton of selenium pro stuff here I could use to make it loud at shows, or I also have 2 B2 component sets I could do. It's not a daily truck so it won't be anything too fancy. I have a nice B2 4ch here and a B2 1200w mono if I wanted to go active and bananas.

Why don't you come over and school me on some install lessons.

Man with your builds compared to mine, I think you will be the one teaching and me taking notes.

no sir. Mine just go boom ans sound like crap.

Thinking about it now, maybe I do want it to sound decent. But that area is out of my experience level.

This is about where I am at.  Most people think my vehicles sound good- but they are on my level too- so what do they know?LOL

Loving this build BTW!

Thanks Lee! My last complete system that sounded great was probably '06 in my vette.

I got the last of my sky high 8g for the subs today. Hope to get that ran and subs in for final install.

These s10's get stupid loud so it will just come down to tons of time and tweaking.

What's considered loud?

Easy to get loud if your goal is lesser than mine.
