I've never personally like the sound of the aq/sq subs very hollow.and yes I've heard them in proper enclosures.

I heard an HD3 15 trunk walled in a lancer, and for a fifteen in 4.5 @ 33hz, on 1500w it rolled off high as hell, the low lows just weren't there. The higher notes were forceful, but the lowest notes just went missing.

I have personally liked the sound of the aq/sq subs cuz they slam and play LOUD, in the proper enclosure.

X2.....  SQ subs are some of the best on the market.   I think some of these guys don't know who the Black Nasty is.

We get it bro, you like Soundqubed, maybe later you can post something substantial, like an intro in the new members section, instead of peanut-buttering Sq's balls. And that's no slam to Soundqubed, I have no opinion on something I have no experience with. I just don't like minions that only run around posting nut-hugging. Reminds me of Kevin and his little posse. *shudders

Well I am sorry but I am not ready for that kind of relationship yet. But thanks for the consideration!!!

I support a company that supports me. Pretty simple logic.

What's the amount of space in the box and how much port area? Also tuned to what? Is it 5.1 cubes total for both 15s or 5.1 per?

It depends on power, but all things equal 2 15s will give greater output.

If you're serious about this, build a custom box. Before buying anything you need to measure the space you have and then pick subs out. Post you're max dimensions and we can help you figure out what size and how many subs you should go with.

Man i had a 18" AQ HDC3 a few years back. Banged hard on mid and high bass but died off on the lows. My buddy just picked up 3 12" HDS300 and put them in his Ram inverted port up (dont know the exact dimentions of the box but i think it was tuned around 33hz) moves crazy air and sounds great for fairly cheap subs.

Completely different suspension between the two, that is why they sound so different, amount other things....like the coil and motor size.
