I'm not sure I'd see a point to it...that'd be trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist.

Mo magnet is not always mo betta.

Adding an additional slug can possibly create a whole new driver cuz then you may have to increase coil height, change top plates, spiders a whole bunch of things.

Just get the BP power option and throw some power on it and see how that does it for you..

i just like the beefiness of the 3rd magnet

So glue something on the end of it that looks like a magnet then. It will be nearly as useful.

I doubt very seriously if Scott would do it...no point in putting a 3rd slug on it it is optimized to preform the way it does with what it has - it doesnt need any more material, plus the tooling cost that you would incurr you could almost buy a 2nd sub for what you'd pay for another slug and different t-yoke.

If ya want a 3rd slug get a BTL :).

Thanks

a loud low set-up. I would love to do one someday. Like 4 18's in a hatch, walled right behind the drivers seat. And go for insane numbers at low frequencies.

That is exactly what "Mega Heavy Bass" has done, except using 15" Mags. Escort hatch, wall, big numbers at 20 Hz :) It's in the SI forum if you look around.

Maybe that is why platnum was confused :)

his numbers at 10hz is what impressed me, something like 143 IIRC.

well i thought that the q was the sq sub that fi makes.

i was confused by that. but i presume any fi sub gets loud lol.

Given enough cone area and enclosure design, anything can get loud :)
