6000w, two 12"s, 151.3db

Recommended Posts

hey guys, i just joined this forum so i figured i would introduce myself with a build log. i built this for 149.9 bassracing but i just as i finished everything, i moved to a place where there is no dbdrag so... damn. lol. but for some reason i like being a little different, so im trying to do it with a pair of 12"s. there is a sundown 1500 in most of these pics because thats what i started with. the crescendo amps are new.

specs.

2x 12" DC level 4XLs

2x Crescendo 3ks

box is 4^ft tuned to 38hz, 2x 6" aeros.

my buddy James cutting the holes.

P1020472.jpg

P1020473.jpg

P1020479.jpg

P1020478.jpg

i just made this thing to keep eyes off my car while it sits in the parking lot all day. but mostly to make my trunk usable. they are not usually in the car, just when i need the extra space.

P1020539.jpg

P1020538.jpg

nice 6" aeros

P1020543.jpg

here are some 2" aeros. they had a ring on the back side of them that i had to remove. furtunitly i have a steady hand and a ban saw.

P1020548.jpg

then i had to cut them so they will fit.

P1020546.jpg

got the wood strips onto the box.

P1020549.jpg

cut out the holes.

P1020550.jpg

P1020551.jpg

strips onto the amp racks.

P1020552.jpg

2" aeros. the fans will be behind these.

P1020553.jpg

P1020554.jpg

amp racks cut up and in place.

P1020555.jpg

1st coat of stain.

P1020556.jpg

P1020557.jpg

P1020558.jpg

got a good deal darker.

P1020560.jpg

P1020559.jpg

as requested

P1020561.jpg

P1020562.jpg

P1020563.jpg

painting the trim.

P1030564.jpg

P1030565.jpg

its all assembled

P1030566.jpg

the sexy shot

P1030567.jpg

ports are in. box is in the car!

P1030568.jpg

hmmm, but whats missing... oh, i know!

P1030569.jpg

then i had to make some mods to fit the 3k's.

P1020894.jpg

P1020892.jpg

P1020895.jpg

and the most important... the proof.

thanks for the welcome guys! let me know if there is anything else you want to see. i cut out all the pics of deadener and a few progress pics, mostly of the door pods. i dont really like them, functionally, so im looking to do something new. either A pillars or a sound bar across the dash.

oh i forgot to add the other component specs. ill go edit that.

oh, nvm i cant edit it already lol. i have:

pdx 150.4 running rainbow 6.5" midrange and crescendo 6.5" midbass

alpine mrp running the tweeters and rear pioneer coaxials

JBL MS-8 for the processor

pioneer z110 HU

DC power 270xp alt

one kinetik 1800, two 2400s, one NGT G31

two 1/0 runs of power and ground front to back.

im also starting to compete in SQ.

nice build.

These DC subs look so small in your box ! I thought they were 10" subs, but no, you said 12".

Looks like they slam hard !

lol a lot of people think they are 10"s. i get that question at almost every show. then when i reconed them to 1ohm coils i thought rusty had sent me 10"s lol.

thanks again for the welcome guys. people here pretty chill? hope its not at all like CA.com lol.

Welcome to SSA! I remember your build from SMD, looks great with the Crescendos. This place is very chill. Like Duran said, they will call you out for giving BS advice, so you will find a lot less misinformation here.

cool. ya, SMD is getting flooded with noobs and their advice while the experienced members have stopped caring. but i do know a lot of people on smd so its still fun.

BTW, i just moved to nebraska from cali, so if there is anyone in lincoln nebraska on here, hit me up. i need to make some friends in this town lol.
