HDC3 or UFO BTL

Recommended Posts

I'm torn between an HDC3 18 and a UFO 18. Will be in 8 cubes with 1500 watts. I like the lows and sound quality doesn't matter too much for me.

The BTL is superior, in my opinion.

Doesn't Matter If It's 1 Watt Or 10kw, BTL. Far Superior Driver Imho.

No Such Thing As Underpowering A Driver...To An Extreme Extent Anyways.

Well, contrary to everyones votes... I'm going with an HDC3 for sake of cost. I just need someone to help me with my box design.

Is the HDC3 new? If it is, you should easily be able to get a 2nd gen 18" BTL for the cost of a new HDC3. I've seen at least 4 of them sell for $250-$300 since the new style BTL's came out.

I'm a bit weary of buying used subs...

So why bother asking? You start a this vs that thread get a very clear answer just to go against it. If you have AQ money get the hdc3, if You have Fi money get the btl.

Hence the reason I for the most part avoid "this vs that" or closed end question type of threads. More times than not the OP already has their mind set on something. Doesn't matter what's suggested in the thread, they will go with their original plan. Waste of time & effort.

mostly because the majority of the people recommeding the FI sub have never owned or heard one.

OP if you want to go with the HDC do 7cubes net, 16^2 port area and tune 34-35Hz if you plan to mostly play low stuff.

I run a single 18" HDC in my daily driver...

I'm also a new over used person when cash allows. Go with the specs above and you should be good.

There are obvious reasons to pick the BTL over the HDC any day...

Perhaps if you stated those "obvious" reasons there would be at least one more useful post in this thread...
