6 Rockford T2 15"s and 7500 Watts, and a destroyed windshield.

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if I've made a log for this or not, but here we go.

We have here my shops 1994 Isuzu Pick up truck.

Old system, 12 db Drive K9 10"s on 3 db Drive A73500's.

Metered 157's at 54Hz and honestly sounded like doodoo.

Here we have the first quick sketch I did after seeing Scott Bowemans truck in a video.

20120711_074700.jpg

Picking up the first 1/2 of the birch plywood we needed for the build.

20120710_204313.jpg

We jump forward a bit here to half way with the box. 1/4" Steel angle iron to hold the baffle in place and help keep box together.

20120723_133200.jpg

We have the baffle in. Sealed with wood glue, then silicon over the metal and all seams.

20120723_141911.jpg

Wires for the subs ran and cleaned up a little. Bolts for the wire to go into the wall, sealed with silicon on the inside.

20120725_161814.jpg

Sitting in place.

20120725_173225.jpg

being sat on. lol

20120728_125209.jpg

Wired all three of the Rockford-Fosgate T2500bdCP's real fast to get a basic idea of how the truck will do.

20120803_151025.jpg

All subs in and angle iron brace done.

20120725_173223.jpg

Not seal off yet.

20120725_173207.jpg

We had a booboo during testing when the budlight started flowing.

20120811_165840.jpg

20120811_165537.jpg

Got the amps all mounted up in their final locations.

20120822_131552.jpg

20121116_175853.jpg

Added the lighting in the wall after we sealed it all up and made it pretty. They can be any color we choose, these are the two I like most.

20120818_095344.jpg

20120818_095030.jpg

20121116_182806.jpg

And then boom, dual 350amp alts, 4 runs of 1/0, and a isolator for the truck so it has no clue what's going on. lol

Here are some videos of this thing doing work.

Two Step mega C&S

And of COURSE, the windshield breaking!!

Looks awesome! I was at my local shop and one of the installers gave me a demo of his Rockford truck. It was only 4 15"s on 2 T-2500s and it literally took my breath away and my left ear hurt for 3 days. I don't think I want to be in your shop's truck on full tilt.

Y'all need to look into an account with Hogan Hardwood. Cheaper pricing and they deliver for free.

Thanks man. lol

Usually you're right, SPL is ugly, most guys don't care anymore what it looks like. Which is beyond me. Even my personal car has everything setup half decent looking.

Build as in design, build and fabricate all on your own or just build?

I copied Scott's over all layout of the 6 subs on one side, then designed it around my power level and desired performance. Then my boss and I spent about 2 weeks building everything while still running the shop.

What kinda numbers does it do? Looks loud

158.3@54Hz

157.8@45Hz

155.9@30Hz

We run out of power with the 3 2500's. I cannot wait to put 3 more amps in there.

That's what I was thinking, those are great numbers on that power.

Thanks guys. The birth sheets on the 2500's was over 3,300w for each one.

Only time I clamped the amps we did so with DEAD batteries. Dropping to 9.3v we made 2100watts out of each amp.

9.3v.. I could never imagine dropping that low.. Nice build though, would love to hear the lows in that bish.

No shit! 156 at 30 is nuts. Drew knows a little bit about getting loud I guess.

That 9v was after the batteries just sat for about 6 months with no charging, we just threw them in to test.

Now we stay in the 11.5-12.3v range while playing music with the dual alts.

Here is another video for your viewing pleasure, this is with just one of the alts.
