Welcome to the IHoP v.2

I'm going to need to cut some aluminum ( 1x2x0.065 rectangle tube, and 4x10x0.065 sheet). I don't know much about saw blades but I'm pretty sure I only need a carbide tip blade.

That being said, I will probably not cut aluminum again for a long while. Is there a recommended blade that can cut aluminum but will also be good for woodworking?

Wht tool are you planning on using to cut? That is some very thing material.
I was going to cut the tube on the miter and planned on clamping the sheet to the miter to make its cut.

I would sandwich the flat between two boards when cutting.

Anyone here have tmobile and good things to say

I had a horrible experience with them, but this was way back in '01.
Had them 4 years ago myself. Didn't work in ohio at all.

Check the coverage maps. They are pretty accurate these days. The coverage In required made TMobile a no-go for me. I've been told its great if you never leave the big cities.

Verizon shows theirs working in TONS of places it doesn't work at all. Including a few blocks from my house. Aargh.

Does the 1.2 have is

Confused Matt is confused.
Sorry, posting from phone IS - stabilization

Nope. But pics like this wouldn't have been possible with IS as a replacement for the wide aperture.

In my case I just question how much better. ie, 2.8 with IS (3-4 stops better) would mean in low light my f/2.8 IS is as good as my 1.4 without IS. When you are in situations where you are fighting shutter times IS is super helpful. I haven't tried both but have taken handheld shots with only a fire as a light source.

Why is the cigar out of focus?

I sincerely love T Mobil as a provider.

I pay less than almost anyone I know, have 4 lines, and I set data on fire. 30gb some months and it's screaming fast.

How is the rural coverage around here?

That could be better. In the twin cities it's a god, in the boonies, it's not as epic.

My concern is on snowmobile trips...

I currently have 5 people on ATT for a hair over $160 a month for 10gb (includes a work discount). "Catch" is all phones are off contract.

I don't care if my bill is $160/mo for me alone. What I am trying to avoid is having to carry a second phone in Asia or having $1000-2000 bills when I go.

At 1.2 some things had to be out of focus.

I feel I get maybe 2 stops from IS. So helpful in handheld.

It isn't instant though. As you know it takes a fraction of a secong to get it going. So while walking around in horrible light I like wider.

The Canon's is pretty instantaneous.

I do feel the pic above IF it could be shot with the same shutter speed would be better with a higher stop. The cigar 'should' be in focus to me. I realize you have to then decide where your focal point is and go from there to get most of it in, but the DOF is too short for that shot IMO.

I am starting to see why you like it though and I don't as much. Didn't understand our differences before. smile.png

You have the assessment 100% accurate. The cigar should be in focus, IMO also.

Handheld, and crap light. The camera was actually held over a drain while laying on the ground.

I also feel that the I SO was way too high for that pic.

If I could have got the 24-70 in the position I got the 50mm in, and I could have had a longer exposure it would be an AMAZING shot. In this case, it's just good with some artistic flair.

We both know I would rather have the 70-200 for every shot.

If only I never needed a wider lens, I would be happy

I don't know if T-Mobil would be good for the sled trails.

Take me with and we can see if I get service.

Wasn't knocking the photo, just describing exactly what made me put down my 50mm for non artistic shots. It is a very hard lens to shoot people with when run wide open.

This year I should actually be able to. Finally have two working sleds. Suspension will be a bit soft for you on the ProR, but the IQr should laugh right back at you.

I'll remember to take a big poop before we go out.

Probably drop 10lbs.

:D

The 50mm is no good for portraits. It is good for snapping people when nothing else will do.

I will post some better people shots I took with it later.

The shot with Goldie was just so technical I wanted to post it.

For my stuff that would make $$$ or portraits I would never grab the 1.2 unless it was to scout and snap before and after the real shooting.

It's my "fun" lens.

Should I splurge an extra $10 for a 60 tooth over a 40?

Depends on the goal. I personally like 40 tooth blades, but I use Forrest Woodworker IIs.

It is a solid combination blade. A Diablo is sweet enough with it's silencing to get away with a 40 tooth for everything from fine work to quick rips. Based on the ability of the blade with 40 teeth being used for just about anything you throw at it, where the 60 tooth will limit you, I suggest the 40 tooth and save the money.

I am assuming a 10 inch blade.

We need a forum bot that automatically replies to any posts with the keyword "4th," and says "don't do it." :D

So they always say never use root as a normal account on Linux. Well after doing it for a few years I finally fucked up. Wiped 99% of my files off the drive--even the porn collection.

Luckily it was the desktop and I've been using the laptop for school, though I could have easily done it on the lappy with my lab data.

I think I may go shoot this week or next. I need to get back into it. Considering all I have been doing is job hunting and looking at school, why not? Granted if I don't find solid well paying work by the end of September (5 mths after being downsized), I am going back to school in January full time, and will find some BS part time job to cover gas. Sadly I see cooking at a bar or something as my future PT job.

Ok you gas-engine drivers...I suspect the Miata runs way too rich: black soot on the rear bumper and at WOT I can see something which looks like a mist in the rearview mirror, at night. Bad O2 sensor? Or bad injectors?

You need to check the plugs. Pull them, take a pic, and post them.

I've recently changed them (no clue on the age) and they are all in the garage. Pics coming as soon as I get home :)
