I was thinking...... ultra low impedence & massive current delivery...but from the looks of the pics the COIL still looks unaffected.Was the tinsel glowing red hot while touching the spider?

I had it running off a crossfire 4000d at 2ohms, and I know it wasn't clipping.

I'd say the amp is the culprit.

probably dc leaking into the signal...I've had problems with crappy a/b amps doing that.

I had it running off a crossfire 4000d at 2ohms, and I know it wasn't clipping.

4000W x1 into 2 ohm

What kind of recone did you get a BTL recone ?

If anything less i don't think a BL/Q can handle that much....

I hate hybrids

The parts are pretty damn close to MT parts so its basically an RE MT with a Fi dustcap.

And that amp is probaly putting out 2500w-3000w after box rise and the eletrical system its on right now.
