Damn Meade, you put in sick hours on this build. It looks to be coming along well even though you do it aside from your regular job....wish I had that much dedication. Look foward to more updates.

thanks man!! :)

OK here is todays progress.

I did a lot of running around this morning.....had to get some materials and stuff. Then i cleaned out the work area AGAIN. Part of this job that no one thinks of is keeping everything clean and organized. I hate working in messy conditions. Anyway i managed to get the tweeter pods done today. They came out nice if i do say so myself. Burrito stopped by and chilled......lent me a hand when needed :)

i decided not to mess with the router on such small pieces.....a hole saw works great in this situation (3 sizes to complete the ring).

Why do I imagine this phone call:

"Hello Steve, this is ****** ****** from RF, we need a car done for CES 2009......"

yeh right, LOL, i think this vehicle would do quite well for RF, only problem is not using their woofers. actually surprised going with the RF speakers in the doors, not a huge fan myself, of course when doing that many in a vehicle that loud problem doesn't make that big of a difference. But the RF amps are tough to beat, and just ordered a 3sixty.2, hope i'm not disappointed. I've heard a couple not so good reviews, but one was from someone who doesn't know a whole lot about what they're doing.

thanks!!

I got some upholstery glue and some speaker grill material. My boy Ray suggested i do this and i think it will be great! Fiberglass doesnt stick to plastic or the stock panel but it will stick to something else that IS stuck to it. So anyway the black speaker grill material gets bonded with REAL contact cement not the 3m chit......then you resin that up. Once that is done now you have something to bond the rest of the new stuff too (speaker pods).

It will make more sense later but here is a few teasers:

totally not necessary but something about using pigment that makes you not want the old boring brown resin anymore :D

DSC01803.jpg

DSC01805.jpg

It only takes a little bit to change the color, if you use other colors it might take more pigment. Black dominates the standard brown color pretty easy though.

Respirator is a must......this is like a gas chamber. I hung the panel up like it would sit in the truck so it wouldnt set itself up in an unnatural position.

ya i know it was more pretty before when it was just fleece.....but if you know about this stuff you know it gets UGLY before it gets pretty :D

anyway I CAN see the beauty in it :D
