Well the wall is pissing me off. So I'm gonna work on some other issues that needs addressed. The rear shocks are blown an need replaced, the rack and pinion also is toasted. That's what ill be working on today

I have a z28 and weight has always been a concern not so much from the speed standpoint but rather looking at the springs and stuff. Are you going to do anything to help out with the weight?

right now it has eibach lowering springs and blown shocks.

ill be replacing the shocks and probably adding spacers in the springs. to help take the load. should hook up nice at the track when its all done.

I thought about spacers and thats probably what I will have to do. Im still sticking to the single bad ass 10 idea though. My shocks aren't blown and my car is relatively low miles. It just doesnt feel right with all the weight all the way in back. Having the wall in front of the back wheels is probably going to help out quite a bit.

Oh yeah. Thanks for this thread. If my wife gives me any grief Ill show her your build and sat " Well at least Im not doing this !"

welllllll not even one step forward and 10 steps back.

today i replaced the rack and pinion and tie rod ends, took it around the block to check alingment, fuel pooring out of the back of the car.

aparently when i was drilling some welds on some brackets in the back and i must have punched through a pressure line and into the tank. now i need a new gas tank.

on a brighter note i dont need new shocks. it has new ones and new eibach springs. hmm just seems very soft when i push down on it.

And really to top is off i cant fit 3 18s. FFUUCCKK!!!!!!!

its right on top. ill post pics later. i thought about epoxy but i feel uneasy about it. gas spilling right onto the exhaust in texas heat. no thanks. just one more piece to make the car new. prolly should replace the pump too while im in there.

Sweet, I did a 4 15" Wall about 9 years ago in a 4th gen camaro.

colage.jpg

Back in the day when car audio was super duper expensive :)

I think this was 2001 or so...

well heres what happened today.

Replaced the rack and pinion. i was driving it last week and the seal blew out. i ordered a refurb unit from The rack Dr.

install was pretty straight forward. a little research goes along way.

Heres some pics.

The old leaky unit

Success

old unit and new match perfect

new unit installed. also installed new tie rod ends just cus it would be stupid not to.

IMAG0469.jpgIMAG0468.jpg

steering wheel is a little off but it needed an alignment anyway. more so after all the weight in the rear gets added.

thought it was a good idea. i wanted to pay 400 bucks for a new tank rather than buy my new alt.

if i were you, id get one of those 3yr alignments. pays for itself in like 2.

That is a good idea. i have a 6 year plan on my wifes truck through firestone. but the camaro will maybe see 500 miles a year.

i may just set the tow on the camaro and call it good. well see how it drives in the end
