Why would you have a misalignment? Something worn or broke?

 

No idea, but I've mulched a belt per tank of gas on the last two tanks.

 

 

Sounds like you may have an idler going bad and pitching when you get on it.

 

....they are all new and freshly inspected.

 

Thinking it may be the spring mechanism in the tensioner.  If it relaxed a little then bam...or something like that.  I need some energy to go out and yank it all off AGAIN.

 

 

When I replaced mine it was a fun adventure on the 4runner, but worth it.

 

 

The tensioner on the Jeep went snap after I changed some stuff, not belt related. Fun-fun-fun. At least it's easy to change

Turbo for the Miata is here. It has the drain tube and the coolant drain/feed tubes too. The shaft has ZERO play

Yay!  Got to pull the obnoxious fuel rail yesterday as one of my injectors developed a pissing gas on the intake syndrome.  Whipple has a REALLY stupid design on the hold down.  Allen heads where you CANNOT get to them.  Almost had to pull the whole charger.  4 hours of bullshit and I am leak free again though.
