Bacon sounds good for any meal. As my son says, bacon makes everything better.

Bacon is the seasoning of meats.

Tonight/tomorrow with my family, then going to her family on Friday evening, and back to home on Sunday. Yay for fuel bills.

I believe my mom is getting us a KitchenAid mixer, pretty excited about that one. I should also have a BGE by the end of January too. Heaven forbid, I may gain weight this new year.

Sean and Tom can attest to the fact I'm not the most round fella in the room.

You sound like me and cookies.

This year I made buttewrballs/russian tea cakes what ever you call them.

Also making my version of a pork sugo sauce to can and give as presents.

For Xmas day I'm making a full on prime rib.

Lots of local people love my rum cakes!

Don't have a BGE yet, but all I use in my Kitchen Aid mixer.

Rum cakes you say... Is the recipe a secret?

The cake recipe not so much, but the rum mixture is hard to get unless you travel to the islands.

an XL egg would be epic.

I'm going to say something bold and it's that the egg is the best cooking device made. Seans metal covered egg is gilding the lilly, and awesome, but the BGE is cheep and works like magic.

The only problem with the Egg is that when I get it, I'll have to put a concrete anchor in our porch so it doesn't get knocked over or stolen. The other day I came out to find a drunk had toppled my grill, and that damn thing weighs all of 80lbs+.

There is a closer dealer, BUT they are in Aspen, the land of the 7 dollar Big Mac. :suicide-santa:

Here is the simple way that I start from.

1-18.50 oz classic yellow cake mix

2-3.4 oz instant pudding (your choice for flavor)

1/2 cup veg oil

2/3 cup water (room temp)

5 lg eggs

1tsp vanilla ( I use Azteca vanilla)

1.5 cups rum of your choice. (I use Cayman rums)

Bake for 40-50 minutes at 350.

This will make you a good rum cake.

Glaze

1 stick of real butter

1/4 cup of power sugar

1 tsp vanilla

1/4 cup of rum.

Bring all ingredients except the rum to a boil, then add the rum as it is cooling. You will need to keep stiring so it stays mixed and does not seperate and pour over the cake. Then chill for about 24 hrs.

It's hard to pay more or less than the standard cost on the BGE. They are price controlled basically. It's a bit like apple products. You can however find some AWESOME deals on creaigslist.

people don't want to move a ceramic 175 pound cooker for some reason... :)

Where are you studying?

Bloomsburg University,link

site is ridiculously hard to navigate so here is the link to the school of science and tech and to the physics and engineering tech department if your interested.

The "Research" links were empty. Thought maybe I'd find something there.

lol you would think they would keep that updated...
