9 hours straight on the backhoe, it was so hot outside I managed to get the engine up to 230F a couple of times. Only took 2 5 minute breaks to eat and I feel totally beat.

The $ is well worth it though :D

Sounds like fun.

You do have an AC inside, right? If not, you are one tough ass mofo. 9 hours still make you one, but.

I need a skidsteer.

que?

I need to landscape, grade, and move some heavy stuff around the yard.

Rental company delivers. :)

tempted... really tempted. Owning would be much more fun though. Especially some beat up older one. I would get romanian and landscape my yard daily.

Also it would help with my insanely long driveway. I did just get a new snowblower, but you can never have too many toys.

:)

Yeah, I'd much rather use the skid, plus they're fun and easy to do wheelies in.

The XR's are even more badass

2006-2007_Ford_BF_II_Falcon_XR6_sedan_01.jpg

looks like the ugly love child of an imp and a charger.

Meh, it's available with an I6 turbo. Faster than most of our Fords. The new SHO looks like it might be cool

I never actually realized that I graduated Tech with 163 credits.

Jesus! How many years were you there?

well, my first semester was fall 02 and last was spring 08 but I had to miss a spring semester for health BS, switched majors twice and had to do less than full time once. Usually, I just piled on courses that I wanted to take whether they helped my degree or not (once i had the necessary shit of course).

son of a bitch!!!! My math book has an online section and I had to peel off a stick from a piece of paper to get the access code...

2011-08-25_12-59-42_938.jpg

So I soaked that bitch, gently rubber paper away, plugged in 0123456789 into photoshop, reversed it, then was barely able to read that shit, the first and last digits were worn away, only had to guess 10 tries until I got it right...

so fuck you wiley math.

That's the one thing that bugs me about college. You're forced to take so many bullshit classes and miss the ones that you actually want to take. Switching majors can suck. I did it and got lucky, I only took one class that doesn't go towards my degree in my other major.

Shit I think they rent for $400/day here. Maybe I'm crazy, but its been 8 years since I've rented one so perhaps its my memory.

I've seen them rent for more. And there is the rub. rent for a week, or buy one that's barely hanging on and then resell?

I'm so lazy that both suck.

:)

My inlaws have one, but I don't have a truck/trailer big enough to pull one down here. Looked at renting that and it ends up being a wash. Actually about 5 of them in the family, but I still rented one when I needed it lol.

Why do all the European versions of cars on Top Gear seem to get way better gas mileage than cars here? It seems like their standard gasoline engines get really high MPG's compared to what most cars get in America. Is it because their gas has a higher octane rating than ours? I've always wondered this.

UK gallons are larger than US gallons, that's the sole reason. We don't get super-duper good fuels.

1 Imperial gallon = 4.54609188 liters

1 US gallon = 3.78541178 liters

UK gas also cost around twice the price as of what our gallon of gas cost, they give up car size and speed for gas milage more then we do.

Trust me, I know the gas prices too well...I live in Europe :P

On the flip side, my record in the Jeep has been 28mpg. US gallons...

They don't have the same emissions standards we do and they way they rate them is different. Higher octane has nothing to do with better gas mileage.

European emission standards are very effed up. Can't wait to see if the jeep can pass emissions with the EGR off. If it does, the whole EGR setup comes out.

Are you required to pass emissions tests from time to time? My state doesn't require this. It would suck to have to pass tests if you wanted to modify your car

Yep, emissions and a series of checks to ensure the car is road worthy, every other year. And for diesels they rev the hell out of the cars, which is why I hate emissions testing.

Last time I went with 235/75R15 and the max for the Jeep is 225/70R15, I got some mumbling from the guy doing the test. Eff this, I can't find good tires at the size which is standard.

My air is conditioned by opening the windows

The fan also quit today, one less aid against the heat...
